Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Bottle. Aroma of sweet chocolate, soft, almost milky coffee, and later the more roasted coffee bean notes, and later still reveals some pleasant alcohol. Flavor continues with very smooth chocolate and coffee, delicate in a way. There are notes of wafer malt, but very much chocolate and coffee coated wafer. Quite the treat, probably great as a dessert beer.

Bottle much thanks to tytoanderso, shared with NachlamSie. Pours black with amber edges and a nice tan head. The aroma is molasses, very smooth coffee, raisin, prune, and sweet chocolate. The flavor is an extremely complex and smooth coffee. I was skeptical about whether using finer coffee would make any noticeable difference in the beer, but it really does. Beyond the coffee flavors lie robust raisin, plum, and chocolate notes. It develops a somewhat ashy, green bitterness that’s hard to tell whether it’s coming from coffee or hops. The finish is roasty and floral, leaving and aftertaste of coffee and just a touch of iodine. The oats lend a very smooth, slightly chewy mouthfeel that is perfect for this beer. Quite a tasty brew.

16.9oz bottle $15.99 Julio’s Liquors. Pours extremely dark liquid with dark foam. Leaves a dark lacing. In other words, this is quite dark! Chocolate, coffee, vanilla - it’s all in there and more. Absolutely no alcohol taste As a fan of imperial stouts this might be the best I have ever had. On a side note - it was only after I drank this that I learned it was made from coffee beans crapped out by weasels. I find myself now wanting to try a cup of coffee made from these beans which is something I doubt I would have considered before drinking this one. Could just be the 16 ounces of 10.9% talking here.

Big thanks to Tronraner for sharing this one. Pours near black with a very nice head. Loads of coffee is very obvious in the nose, but it is more juicy than sharp and roasty. Chocolate, oats, and ash are here as well. The palate is not giant, but just right for what we’ve got here. Lingering bittersweet, fruity coffee is the highlight of this one. Notes of vanilla wafers, cedar, and chocolate oats are also present. This is really a tasty treat.

Dark brown pour, smooth and viscous with a tall khaki head. Big coffee nose, like fresh espresso and coffee ice cream. Silky palate, thick body. Very well balanced throughout, not much to the acidity from the coffee but enough hops to keep it in check. Roasted malts pull dark chocolate and a soft earthy note. Really top notch in every way.

Bottle at Eulogy Belgian Tavern shared with puzzl and feedmecookies. Deep brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is loaded with soft herbal coffee aroma. Fairly prominent heavy licorice character with a salty sort of roastiness. Earthy and coffeeish. Sweet and thick with a very syrupy palate and a fairly boozy component. This is a big monster of a beer. Big and loaded with coffee, but not enough to hide the fact that this is a big imperial stout. I like it, but these really big beers kind of bore me a little bit.

Bomber from AgentSteve shared by Odeed. Nose of coffee, chocolate, caramel, prunes, bubblegum, and some light hoppiness. Opaque dark brown with rusty edges and a medium cinnamon tan head. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, light bitterness, and some toffee. Silky body with a lightly bitter finish.
