Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Large size, dark tan head on a black body. Coffee is strong in both aroma and taste, a fairly solid bitterness without being to overpowering, oatmeal gives good body and the alcohol is only just facewarming. Well made, extremely drinkable and probably more than just facewarming after a second or third beer.

This bottled brew from a rating party poured a large sized head of frothy fine to medium sized dark brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a and a good lacing. The mild aroma was dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt and potent vinous dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

500ml bottle from CBX to celebrate submitting my ERAS application! pours a syrupy, jet black topped by a massive, rocky, dark mocha head with great retention and lacing. aroma is wonderful with huge, roast coffee beans, dark chocolate, toasted almond, and touches of sweet toffee and ash. flavor is outstanding with massive, roasted espresso, dark chocolate, rolled oats, and caramel malts with hints of dark fruit, lactic sugar, smoke, and mild, earthy hops leaving a lingering, bitter, coffee finish. palate is full bodied and a bit highly carbonated for an imperial stout with just a hint of booze. overall, a bit of a letdown as enjoyed beer geek breakfast a bit more, but still an excellent brew...even though it’s made with with civet shit, haha.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours black with a tan head.. Aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, marzipan, roasted malts. That flavour....wow! Intense rich coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, rich wholesome tanginess. Finsihes sweet, malty, smokey and slightly hoppy. Damned tasty!

bottle - Pours black with a very brown head. The aroma is of coffee and dark roast malt with some chocolate. It has a very intense roast malt flavor with lots of coffee and some dark, bitter chocolate. Moderately bitter, it has a full body and a dry finish. The coffee really dominates this one. It’s really good though not as spectacular as I had hoped. I’ve had my civet shiat coffee beer now though.

Tasted at Black Clover Beer Fest 9/18. Pours a deep black, nice dark tan frothy head. Intense coffee aroma with heavily roasted malts. Punchy, with strong coffee matching the strong alcohol.

Bottle from Tom. Pours out a black color with a tan head on it. Smell is full of coffee, roasted malts, a hint of chocolate and alcohol, but primarily coffee. Taste is very thick and rich, the coffee in this one is close to overwhelming, but it provides a different kind of bitterness than hops. As it warms it gets progressively easier to drink as well as progressively better. This one started off so so and finished up with me wishing I had another one. Good stuff, questionable value for the price, but other than that, good beer.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one at Lithy’s March tasting. Opaque black with a lasting disc of cream and nice lacing. Nose is espresso, caramel and oats. Tastes of espresso, cocoa and oat. Medium-heavy body is smooth, sticky-chewy, and roasty dry.
