500 ml bottle. Hazy amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit and pines. Flavor is sweet caramel malt and lots of bitterness, citrus fruity and alcohol. Could easily go as an Imperial IPA.

Bottle. Pours a nice orange-amber. Aroma is full, estery, of fruit steeped in mild brandy, and just a hint of woodiness. Definitely got my mouth watering. Body is rich and medium-full. Just a hint of syrup on the palate makes for a full body. Flavor is of overripe pears, apples and plums, intoxicatingly sweet but not cloying by any means. High ABV warms the belly. Finish takes forever. I held my glass for a full two minutes before taking another sip, which worked out well because with a little warmth, this beer is outstanding. Finish was woody with liquorice notes and a pervading undertone of plums and dates. Wonderful brew. Can’t wait to try Big Worse!

RB#2100. 50 cL bottle, tasted head to head with Big Worse Barley Wine, my outmost thanks to Ungstrup for provinding me this fantastic opportunity to taste my most sought after DK beer. Pours deep orange with a fizzy head. Aroma is FULL, dired fruit and filling malty roasted, alcohol and with a totally gone sweetness, worse seems slight faint in comparison. Full bodied. Flavour starts woody and slowly, and I mean: s l o w l y, goes into a nice liqourice finish and then again leaves some deep dried fruity, barley and woody tones in the far finish. Fantastic. Worse is more fruity and sweet compared to this, and clearly lacks a lot of cellaring.

Mahogany color with red shades; huge creamy head; it deserved my original Cuvée de l’Ermitage Grand Cru glass! Very nice aroma, medium strong, malty of course, with an elegant hoppy note, developing over time. Full mouthfeel, very good balance of malts and hops, powerful but not cloying; good hop fruitness and excellent final, long and fruity, with enough resins.
A monster, just my kind of beer, that I could drink over and over!

Bottle thanks to BierKönig: Pours a dark copper mahogany with a frothy lightly-lacing light-tan head. Sweet toffee caramel malty aroma has a pleasant hoppy earthy piney balance. Starts with sweet toasty caramel maltiness and a fresh citrusy hoppy bitterness. Finishes bittersweet with some mild alcoholic notes. A pretty good barley wine.

Thanks to CaptainCougar for sharing. Poured a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with a big citrus hop and some alcohol fumes underneath. The flavor is malty sweet, of caramel and the darker fruits, with a decent amount of piney hop flavor midway through. Some alcohol present on the finish.
