Doesnt smell and taste like an incredibly good one, but definitely a decent one. Little too sweet and pretty hot on the alcohol. Still pretty aight. Cool label. demitriustown (701), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2008 12.7 oz bottle: Aroma is hoppy, hard candy, caramel, roasted malt, and quite pungent altogether. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin tan head that lingers for a while. Flavor is really interesting (in a good way). Starts off with big malty and hoppy texture, then a candy like as it goes down your throat. Then it goes to nothing, but comes back with a nice hoppy and malty texture. Palate is really mouth coating, and the aftertaste is lingers on with the hard candy texture. Overall, I might have opened this on up too early, but for a young Barley Wine it’s pretty damn good. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Bottle 375 ml. Pours a muddy brown with a tanned white head. Spreading emidiately after pouring a sweet vinoes aroma.. nice. The nose is rather sweet and vinoes, with raisins, plums, roasted malts, brown sugar and liqouer-filled chocolates - over the sweetness there is a fresh hoppyness that takes the top of the sickness-feeling a too sweet aroma often creates. The taste reminds me of the old traditional danish dish, that is made of bread, sugar and beer. The alcohol is a wellpayed player that are fitting perfectly on the team without overshadowing anyone. The freshness and bitterness from the hops takes it away from the traditional sweetness you find in normal barley wines - a sweetness that are getting too much - it dosnt in this one and that is well done. The mouthfeel is round and creamy with a finisg that are tickeling with a balanced combination of sweetness and bitterness Rciesla (3720), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown amber body with a white head. This beer is all over the place roasted toasted malt, sweet and fruity with heavy alcohol latent fruit, and a fair amount of bitter hop character to the finish. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. 2007. Ugly brown amber that is hazy and thin looking. Vinous aroma with burnt malt, caramel, sweet coffee and plenty of alcohol. There is Pine as well as something familiar that is hard to place. The flavor is caramel with butter, thin candy, vanilla, oak, touch of spice, and maybe…maybe some citrus vinous stuff going on. Light body that somehow manages to be thin and slick at the same time. What ever….It’s still hot. dmac (1488), Toms River, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is sweet with lots of fruitiness specifically pineapple, raisin, honey, toffee, molasses and caramel...very nice. Medium bodied with noticeable carbonaton and lots of alcohol warming. Flavors of toffee, bread, rum, fruit rind and raisin. Although this one had a good dose of alcohol warming and alcohol flavor the beer improved greatly overall upon warming. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a thick, deep mahogany with an exquisite aroma of raisin-soaked alcohol, prune jam, and sweet bread. Flavor is a bit disappointing as it presents a weird Chex raisin wheat bread taste. Average mouthfeel. This beer simply fell flat on me.
