Bottle. Pours a murky medium-dark brown with no real head. Aroma of raisin and dark fruits. Flavor of raisins, alcohol, acidity, sweet apple skins. Heavy and sweet, tough to drink. I’m not quite a fan of these aged barleywines. This was better than some, but I still didn’t enjoy it.

Pours a deep amber brown with a very small off white head. Aroma is very sweet with cherries, dates, toffee, nuts and alcohol. Flavor is somewhat fruity although the malt does shine through a bit more. Thick, chewy mouthfeel. Finishes long and sweet with a substantial alcohol burn.

A little off on appearance as the head quickly faded. Otherwise a very sharp and well done barley-wine. Alcohol was nicely front and center w/o being hot.

Interesting color, cloudy burnt sienna with orange highlights. An itsy-bitsy head develops after a vigorous pour looks to be full-bodied. The aroma is a not over the top mix of maple syrup, alcohol, and almost burnt sugar. Flavor-wise things are quite bitter. There is also an odd sweetness that does not match with my expectation but explains the burnt-sugar in the aroma. The body is syrupy and pretty full, but it leaves surprisingly little residue behind in the mouth. Not a teeth-coater. In the end it is not well harmonized, something that age might repair.

Thanks for sharing, iowaherkeye. Body is very hazy dark copper with a thin off white head. The aroma has some molasses and caramel. There is also some cardboard. The taste has some rich notes of caramel with some light notes of tea. There is also some light leather in here.

Pours dark brown with a hint of ruby and an off white quickly disappearing head. Delicious candied fruit aroma with a touch of caramel. More of that candied fruit flavor in the taste but with some hoppiness on the back end. A little lighter than most barley wines. Its a bit soda like actually. Still enjoying this though, a nice barley wine.
