375 ml bottle. A lightly hazy deep red beer with a medium sized and quite persistent beige head. The aroma is quite good and powerful, vinous, both malty and hoppy wityh notes of caramel, plums, other fruits, pine and atouch or maybe more of alcohol. The flavour is very sweet, again fruity, with a good amount of aromatic hops in the finish. Good mouthfeel, but a bit too sticky and syrupy for my likings to give a 5 on palate. Full body, soft carbonation, long finish with medium to high bitterness. The alcohol is felt. A nice barley wine.

Very nice dark red color, big malty aroma. Heavy sweet flavor, like sucking on a piece of hard candy. Very good beer, need to pick up a few bottles for the cellar. Goes good with birthday cake too.

Nice reddish-brown pour with a medium foamy head that leaves good lacing. Sweet aroma of fruit and malt. Big sweet fruity caramel flavor. Touch of bitter hops and alcohol on the finish. Pretty tasty.

Brown-red copper body. Nose of rich malt, plums and alcohol. Flavors include plum, apricot, caramel and alcohol. Would like to try in a year or to - to see how it ages.

Bottle thanks to 1_2many. I’ve been wanting to try this beer for a long time. I’m glad I finally got the chance, excellent beer. Is dark brown, amber with not much of a head. Malty sweetness in the flavor, followed by some raisin, caramel, and alcohol. Also has a nice bitter finish. A wonderful barley wine.

Bottle thanks to dchmela, cheers mate Aroma is still young but some nice caramel malt notes along with flowers, citrus, oak, dried dark fruits and apricots. Pours a nice smaller than average off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Murky dark amber brown hue. Flavor is sweet and malty. Caramel and citrus fruit that transitions to a mild bitterness. Palate is full bodied, kind of cloying, and oily soft. Very nice brew, even when young. Very well balanced with a great feel and look. Top notch.

Burgundy amber pour with a minimal head. Nice malty aroma with some slight alcohol. Bitterness followed by some sweet flavor is fabulous with very nice warming down the throat. This is a great barley wine. Would love to try again.

Did this one hit my six month rule? Maybe. Can’t remember. Regardless, its taste feels mellowed. Not too intense for 12 %. Nice overall feeling. I open barley wines when the wife is away. It’s the beer she won’t miss not having.
