Pours a clear dark brown with an off-white head. Full bodied sweetness with malty aromas of caramel, nuts and alcohol. Hints of dates. Nice, fruity and slightly resiny hoppiness. Rather strong alcohol aromas. Medium to soft carbonated. Dry finish with aromas of hops and warming alcohol nots.

Cloudy cooper-brown color topped by a thin ring of foam. Caramel aromas accompanied by toasted malt and candied fruits. Sweet toffee-like malts and dark fruits followed by a some spruce and piney bitterness. Finishes with a light fruity tartness and some lingering bitterness/spiciness.

This beer reminded me more of a spiced Belgian strong ale. It had the same aroma as Chimay grand reserve and and a very similar after taste to a spice ale. This beer was very unusual in that the body was very thin considering that it’s a barley wine. It was also a little tart.

Clear copper color with little head. Nice aroma of muted pit fruits, malts, sugar, with grassy hops. Medium/full bodied with light carbonation. Big boozy flavor is spicy apples, cinnamon, pit fruits with a stinging alcohol twang nose to tail. Age might do this brew some good.

Thanks for sharing this bottle Sick_boy. Pours with a cloud, amber body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a hint of candy sugar, a little spice and a nice hoppy bitterness. A nice overall Barleywine. Full bodied and slightly warming.

Corked bottle. Reddish brown color. Malty aroma with flowery hops and a hint of raspberry. Malty sweet, alcoholic flavor with muscat grapes and flowery hops. Earthy hoppy aftertaste with butterscotch. Well made barley wine, not without complexity.

12 oz bottle from South Bay. Pours a murky red brown color with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of hard alcohol. The flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, with a bit of citrus added. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is short and semisweet. Overall: A bit too much alcohol showed through on this one for me to think much of it. I’ll pass in the future.
