| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2008 This beer reminded me more of a spiced Belgian strong ale. It had the same aroma as Chimay grand reserve and and a very similar after taste to a spice ale. This beer was very unusual in that the body was very thin considering that it’s a barley wine. It was also a little tart. AmEricanbrew (1880), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2008 Clear copper color with little head. Nice aroma of muted pit fruits, malts, sugar, with grassy hops. Medium/full bodied with light carbonation. Big boozy flavor is spicy apples, cinnamon, pit fruits with a stinging alcohol twang nose to tail. Age might do this brew some good. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA

A nice overall Barleywine. Full bodied and slightly warming. bierkoning (6071), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2008 Corked bottle. Reddish brown color. Malty aroma with flowery hops and a hint of raspberry. Malty sweet, alcoholic flavor with muscat grapes and flowery hops. Earthy hoppy aftertaste with butterscotch. Well made barley wine, not without complexity. stefanje (947), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2008 12 oz bottle from South Bay. Pours a murky red brown color with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of hard alcohol. The flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, with a bit of citrus added. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is short and semisweet. Overall: A bit too much alcohol showed through on this one for me to think much of it. I’ll pass in the future.
