Bottle, 12.0%. Sweet caramelly aroma, there seems to be some hop in there, too. Seemingly clear dark brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour starts off very caramelly and smooth. Turns into a sharp, but not unpleasant, alcohol bitterness. Finishes with a little cleansing hop bitterness and some grassy aroma hop. Mild carbonation, suitable. A rough beer, but I like it.

375 mL bottle - thanks Jason! Pours a dark copper color with about a finger of white head. Sweet intensely malty aroma with some pine. Wonderful caramelly taste with a little bit of overriding sourness and a finish that has a nice alcohol burn. This isn’t quite the chewy malty taste and mouthfeel that many of these stronge ales get, there’s something else there that I can’t quite put my finger on, but it’s very good.

375 bottle purchased at Blue Max. Pour is hazy orange bronze with nice settling and a 1 inch off white head. Aroma of citrus, honey, floral, caramel and pine. Nice nose. Taste is fresh tasting, bright and floral citrus and also a nice big malty backbone. Oranges and honey. Very well done Barley Wine, no heat at all. Fresh may have been the way to go with this one.

Poured a hazy red/brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, candy sugar, dried fruits, floral hops, caramel, and light pine. Taste of sweeter caramel, candy sugar, vanilla, citrus, pine, grassy hops, dark fruits, medium bitterness, and light alcohol in the finish.
