Bottle.Small semi-fizzy ivory head that mostly diiminished, spotty lacing, hazy, carbonation observed, and an orange brown hue. Nose was hoppy, malty, some toffee and citrus.Flavor was sweet, biting, malty, hoppy, caramel, some citrus and finishes dry.Mouthfeel was a buring in the back of the throat sensation.Medium in body.Quaffable, nicely done but my drawback was that I did not like the burning sensation that this delivered to the back of my throat. Not nice.Worthy of a try though.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a dark cream colored head. Malty, vanilla aroma with backing hops. Malty flavor with light sherry and backing hops - seems a bit oxidized. Medium body. Lingering malt, pine, and sherry. Decent bitterness. No pop on cork and being slightly oxidized I don’t think it’ll age well - or at least my bottle wouldn’t have. Alcohol well hidden.

375ml bottle with mes, ethereal and tashi. Bottle was given to mes by engelsmann. Thank you guys!!! Beauty of a barley wine. Dark hazy red hazel colour with a creamy head. perfect condition. You could get drunk just smelling this stuff. Masive hop, sturdy alcohol in perfect balance to quite a heap of sugar. Like a velvet sledgehammer!

Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Deep hazy ruby, small head. Intense aroma of toffee, black currant and citrus. Very sweet with dense full body. salty and packed with flavour. Dextrose and candy sugar gives chemical sweetness. Bold and extrovert with massive amounts of everything, but more muscles than finesse. A bit rough around the edges.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy caramel falvor with some hint sof grapefruit. Long warming dry malty caramel finish with a long hoppy bitter aftertaste. Very nice.

Very Interesting. 12.7 oz. Caged cork. Malty nose. Starts sweet then turns bitter. The most notiable thing is the long lasting bitter grapefruit like finish. Pricey and hard to get.

Bottled. Beer is cloudy, medium golden brown. Head is initially moderately sized, off-white, frothy. Diminishes quickly and slowly, ultimately lasts.
The aroma is sweet, forward with slippery oxidized fruit, caramel malts. It’s malty with light notes of toasted grain, toasted bread crust, biscuit, caramel sauce, lighter notes of diluted blackstrap molasses and brown sugar; Malty with light resin notes, light grassy lemon zest, trace tickle of grapefruit oil; Yeasty with a light note of barnyard; Light notes of cardboard, raisin, alcohol.
The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly-to-moderately acidic (juicy), lightly bitter with a long, warm, lightly acidic (juicy), moderately sweet finish. No real hint as to the ABV in the flavor or palate
The body is medium, the texture is syrupy and the carbonation is a bit softer than average.
Fair enough critter. Would like to try a younger sample, see if the slick cardboardy note goes away.

375ml bottle shared with Mes, renffisch and tashi. Many thanks to Mes’ friend engelsmann for giving him this. Superb aroma of rich alcohol and delicate hops. You feel like you could get drunk just inhaling this. Smooth and oh so restrained, with the sting of the alcohol perfectly balanced by sweet malt and hop bitterness. One of the very best barley wines I’ve tried.
