Bottle courtesy of Fonefan: Poured a deep lightly hazy copper color ale with a nice foamy head with medium retention and no lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops is dominating with some light pear and some alcohol. Taste is a mix between some grapefruit hops, light caramel malt with phenols of alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation and some apparent alcohol which I didn’t appreciate. Interesting take on the American barleywine style with a nice hops combination but I could do without all that alcohol.

Pours dark orange. Very alcoholic; flavour is orange, bitter and the mouthfeel is biting. Still, not bad.

bottle from west lakeview..... cork removed without the slightest hiss. an opaque dark amber brown with a small off-white head that quickly dissipated, leaving accumulation along the edges and a wispy center..... aroma was quite enjoyable consisting mostly of caramel malt and fruit. one of the more fruitier barleywines, aromatically, that i have tried.... flavors of caramel, brown sugar, and fruit. there is also hints of sourness which i wasn’t expecting and some bittering hops. moderate carbonation level that works well with it. a little boozy in the end as it def. warms the throat....better than i was expecting and well worth having again.

Pour is a hazy brown red color. Aroma is nice, some fig, caramel, tart cherry, and dusty grain. Flavor is some of the flavors of the aroma, as well as some vanilla and a nice hop kick as well. This beer might be a little overly sweet, but there is a sourness (not typical for the style) that balances it out. Excellent beer!

Pours a hazy reddish orange with a 1 finger off white head. This stuff smells really good. Aroma of Caramel, hops, rasins, yeast and alcohol permeate from this one. Flavor is sweet and mellow with hints of rasin, caramel some hops, malt and fruit. This beer has a very nice mouthfeel and a perfectly balanced bitter yet sweet finish. What a wonderful Barleywine, YUM!

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Clear, deep copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Vinous, floral nose with lots of rich toffee and caramel to go along with more subtle notes of dates and dark raisins. Full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Boozy, caramelly and sticky-sweet with a pronounced bitterness that balances the beer perfectly. Wonderful barley wine!

The pour is a slightly hazy red, with a nice off white head. The nose is smooth, filled with hints of yeast, sugars, light tree grown fruits, but not citrus, with finishes of sour cherry. The flavor is sweet, complex and follows the nose well. A good barley wine.
