Commercial Description:
Finally……! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer – in the heavyweight category.

Bottle. Black color, nice lasting brown head. Malty chcolate and tar aroma, cocoa, okay, vinous, some creamy notes. Roasted coffee flavor, rather bitter, tar, cocoa, a bit vinous and with some alcohol. Huge body, strong bitter finish.

Bottled. Thanks to ekstedt. Beefed up version of Beer Geek Breakfast? Black colour with good head. Green pepper aroma with coffee and all in all huge scent. Green pepper, with coffe in flavour and a somewhat demanding mouthfeel, even for a "big beer sucker" like myself. Fiery mouthfeel without being alcoholic.

375 ml corked and caged green bottle poured an opaque black with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of dark fruit, alcohol, dark chocolate, carmel, light coffee, light licorice and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium to full bodied smooth and warming. Flavors of bitter coffee, alcohol, dark chocolate, plum, raisin and a hint of licorice with a smooth warming fruity finish.
A good impy stout but not as great as I expected.

Bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours opaque with an average, creamy, dark brown head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, coffee), heavy hops (flowers, pine, grapefruit), average yeast (leather) with notes of tar and heavy alcohol. Full bodied, creamy and alcoholic texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity, and harsh bitterness; fusel alcohol burn with a burnt toast flavor under the hops.

My 2600th rating! Bottle (12.7oz). Man oh man, the cork was a bitch to get out! Pours totally black with an average size somewhat-lasting frothy tan head -- that’s a pretty good looking beer. Nice aroma of deep roasted malt, molasses, dark fruit, dark chocolate and a significant amount of alcohol. Minus a point for some kind of mild oddness to the aroma, like a weird burnt sugar quality to it or something I can’t place. Probably the alcohol. Flavour starts quite tasty: Dry, roasty and bitter along with molasses, dark fruit and chocolate, but there’s too much alcohol in the finish making it somewhat hard to drink, again I have to take a point off. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium to full bodied. It’s definitely an "experience" to drink this, and it is pretty good, but I have to say, I thought I would like this more then I did. It’s just too damn boozy when you get down to it. Still, 3.8 is nothing to scoff at.

Pours a deep black with a medium bubbly/creamy dark tan head. Aroma of vanilla, molasses, honey, roasted malts, coffee, alcohol, lots of hops, cherry and hints of dark fruit. Flavor of roasted malts, bitter hops, coffee grinds, alcohol, vanilla, woody and some light smoke and suprisingly dry...not a whole lot of malty sweetness. Alcohol a bit intense...let this one sit.
