This bottle lost half it’s contents on the hopper flight from Atlanta to Nashville.
No bottle number.
Pours opaque black with no head.
Cocoa, vanilla, and dark roast coffee mix in the aroma.
Complex tasty brew that completely hides the alcohol. bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Poured form a bottle a deep dismal (in a good way) black body. Opaque with a thin wispy brown-gray head. Nose of sweet, bitter and mildly sour grittiness. Far from cloying. Big on the coffee aromatics. Toasty and lactic in the finish. Peaty smokiness present. Earthy and rather complex. Not as thick and luxurious as I would have liked, but classy and rich all the same. Alcohol is hidden craftily and this beer is better and better as it warms and unveils its true genius. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours dark black with some light brown tones during the pour. Medium but quite short lived tan head for an Imperial Stout.
Smell is quite obviously nicely hopped for the style, with a nice dry roastiness coming in as well. Some alcohol in the nose as well as a bit of aspirin.
Taste is dark and roasty, somewhat dry chocolate like and hoppy as well. The alcohol is slightly noticeable but it comes off more like a minty freshness in the mouth and warming in the chest than hot alcohol. Quite pleasant for 14% and very drinkable. Carbonated a bit more than average for the style aiding in drinkability. As it warms, I definitely get a bit of the aspirin like chalky medicinal bitterness too from the hops. That definitely detracted a bit and kept it from being a fantastic beer, yet it is still good. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2009 A black hole pour with very little head or lace. Aroma at first is boozy and chocolate. As it warms a tad it turns to a hint of chocolate as well. The flavor is a warm almost mediciny coffee flavor with a very nice bitter. It also comes through with a hint of fruitiness as well. A nice full bodiedness that because of the abv seems to thin as it warms. Overall a very good beer. radiomgb (1993), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Deep black in colour with a lingering thin tan head, good lacing. The aroma is very sweet, lots of alcohol, vinous, some molasses, fruit cake and burnt fruits. The flavour is alcoholic, lots of dark fruits, roasty, very vinous, lots of cake and just very malty in general. Very warm mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, very warm and malty.
It’s now 1 year old and this is starting to round out. I’m sure that it will take a bit longer but the alcohol has mellowed some.
375ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheEpeeist, thanks Chris.
