Commercial Description:
Finally……! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer – in the heavyweight category.

Black oily with not too much head. Actually none at all. Smell is coffee, powerful alcohol, and roasty. Slick taste with roastiness, coffee, alcohol, and malts.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark black with razor thin brown head. Sweet and dark chocolate nose. Taste of chocolate, sugar and then more dark chocolate. Notes of coffee. Just a beautiful thing. Really enjoying it. Nice tart choco finish. A great style and a great brewer. Seems clear to me.

Black with no head. Aroma is coffee, licorice, smoke, very roasty, caramel. Taste is roasty with coffee, a light citrus type tartness to it, cream, and dark chocolate. Good stuff.

Bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours an opaque black as night black. Very roasted, chocolate, booze aroma. Taste is very overpowering. Felt peppery burning. Burnt flavors, pepper heat. Boozy. Extreme but unbalanced to the extreme. Didnt really get any of the coffee that this was brewed with. Not for me

Bottle sampled from Capone’s. Pours black with a large tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, slight chocolate, brown sugar, molasses, and hops. The flavor is slightly sweet, roast and coffee are prodominate, chocolate, spices, vanilla, alcohol is well masked, and has a beautiful hoppy finish. Great brew.

Pours a very nice dark black with a thin creamy brown head. The nose is very nice, chocolate cherries, molasses, alcohol, coffee, sweet, . The flavor was warm dry alcohol, sweet, chocolate, espresso on the sides of the tongue, and there are the hops, waxy warm and bitter on the back of the tongue. Crisp dry palate with the alcohol showing mostly as warmth in the stomach. Not as phenomenal as I had expected but still good.
