Commercial Description:
Finally……! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer – in the heavyweight category.

12.7 oz bottle from ucusty thanks David. Pours a deep dark solid black with an average size tightly packed creamy beige head in my Lucifer snifter. Initial aroma is very sweet, dark fruits..chocolates..dates..artificial sweetner, then the roastiness kicks in with lots of espresso beans..burnt coffee, yum. Full bodied with average carbonation and a god dose of alcohol warming. If the alcohol warming was a touch less this would of been a 5 on palate but alas it was just a bit to much. Flavor of sweet dark fruits, lots of coffee, alcohol, even a touch of peat and smoke from all the raosted/burnt maltiness. Really great beer which turned my mouth into a black hole as I tried to suck every last drop out of the bottle.

Poured into a fluted glass. Dark, almost black with nice red highlights. Sustainable tan head. Coffee, dark chocolate, and dark fruit in the aroma that is a bit sour. Flavor is not what the aroma would suggest. Much more fruit and chocolate and much less coffee notes. This is almost a cherry chocolate beer with a super high ABV. It is also brings some salt. The feel is very rich and smooth. Chocolate is a bit cloying but this is a delicious beer

Aptly named. Super dark. Dark roasted aroma and flavor. Unfortunately, it leans towards burnt. Still pretty good though.

12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with a tan, pudding-skin head. Nose is milk chocolate, coffee and molasses. Almost medium with a minimal carb tang. Flavor is huge but in need of some melding. Chocolate syrup, coffee and black jelly beans; hints of Good ’n Plenty. Veins of candied citrus and pithy grapefruit add contrast. Alcohol well-hidden despite the high ABV.

Bottle #39. Overwhelming aroma of dark roasted malts, liqour soaked fruits and lots of vanilla. Pours pitch black with very little carbonation, a tiny tan ring is barely spotted. Lots of coffee in the flavor, notes of chocolate, vanilla and brandy, reminds me a bit of some sort of vanilla/chocolate ice cream. Very intense, deliveres a small and pleasant alcohol burn to the throat. The vanilla becomes a bit cloying i think.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown/black color with a foamy beige head. Nose is roasty, choclate, cocoa, with some very mild dark fruits. Head laces well. Palate is full and silky, but leaves a biting on the tongue and throat. a very light hint of alcohol in the nose. Flavor is solid chocolate with some light coffee, roasted malts, and deep raisiny notes.
