Jun 4, 2009 Pitch black with a thick mocha head with good retention and lacing. Aroa is sweet, with a ton of chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is chocolate, cream, caramel, vanilla, roasted malt, alcohol, hops and a bitter finish. Full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Excellent!

May 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a black color and a small head. The coffee aromas stream right ouf of the glass, in addition to some blueberry notes and chocolate. First sip the alcohol comes through very obviously but then vanilla, cocoa and coffee together with some dried berries flavors are taking over. Finishes with a distinct bitterness.

Nov 26, 2009 Pours very dark brown with virtually no head. The aroma is figs, cassis, molasses, licorice. The taste is sweet, mellow, light bitter, cherry, coffee, a little alcohol.

Dec 23, 2007 Bottle from BottleTrek.com. Pours like oil with a brown frothy head that dissipates into a few wishpy clouds. Big aroma of coffee and bitter chocolate. Flavor is similiar with addition of roasted malts and even some citrus notes in the back. Smooth, almost velvet like, mouthfeel. You can hardly detect the alcohol, but it does sneak up quickly. This is a copmlex brew and will be even better with age.

Jan 24, 2008 Pours a deep black with thick brown head. Complex, but rather messy, aging will probably help this beer out a lot. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, sweet toffee, plum, raisins, liquorice, coffee, and piney floral hops. Lots of both malt and hops. When mellowed with age this will be an amazing stout.

Feb 23, 2008 375ml. Super black pour with a tan head, looks great. The nose is all cocoa, coffee, alcohol, and oak. Taste is very strange - smoky, bacon, coffee, alcohol, dark chcolate, bitter almonds. Oily and chalky palate and a monster bitter finish. A huge beer.

i expeced something bad from the 13.something alc, but this imperial stout is truly well crafted. One of te best beers i’ve tasted, and also one of the best stouts i’ve tasted. I’m going to go buy more of these asap - they might not last forever. chocolate, coffee, alc. and other notes are well balanced, well rounded. i’d take one of these instead of the #1 ranked beer here any day. If you like stout, you HAVE to try this one.
