Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange/brown with a beige/light brown head. Sharp, tart dark fruit aroma with a remote candy-like note. Heavy, sweet malty and fruity flavour. Bit of wooden notes. Notes of apple and hops in the background. Sweet malty, fruity finish with slight liquorice notes. A bit cloying. 08-11-09.

Pours an amber brown with an everlasting head. Aroma is cotton candy, toasted marshmallows, citrus. Taste is the same plus caramel, honey, grapefruit and a long, salty bitter finish. Overall, a fantastic barleywine.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of toffee, carmel, oak, light vanilla, light peat and a hint of smoke. Palate was medium to full bodied with a smooth finish. Flavors of carmel, toffee, mlight plum, light peat and light oak with a smooth malty finish. Hides the alcohol well for such a big beer.

Wow! wish I could find more of this stuff. I felt like this beer while not extremely unique or complex did everything right. One of the most balanced beers I’ve ever had, good hop bitterness and malt sweetness, mild dry bitter finish with the malts comming in at just the right time to keep it in check. Not a fan of barley wines, but this one makes me a fan of at least one!

Hazy cider brown, with almost no white head. Aroma is fermented fruits and toffee with slight notes of vanilla and orange peel. Taste is malty with raisin character and finishes in a pithy bitterness and rubbing alcohol. Carbonation is relatively brisk $12/12oz
