12oz bottle. Clear reddish amber pour with a medium tan head. Nose of fruit, booze and some dankness. Malty and sugary flavor with a semi-roasty and bitter finish. Not overly impressive, but I like the complexity in flavor.

Aroma of prunes, dried fruits and toffee. Rich flavour with lost of caramel and some roasty flavour, hints of oak with a slight sweetness, but not cloying. I get a slight hint of the Speyside whiskey in the flavour but less in the aroma. Probably started drinking this too cold, so let it warm up a bit more and aroma came out more.

Bottle from half time in poughkeepsie. Pour is transparent brown. Tastes of maple syrup and spices. Hides alcohol very well.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, toffee, apple, and faint whiskey. It pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin ring along the outside edges of the glass. The flavor starts with lots of caramel, toffee, and faint apple. The finish has some light citrus hoppiness, faint oak, and whiskey. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Very good barley wine, not overpowering at all. I’m new to the barley wine category, but this seems like a pretty good representation of the style. It was pricey though; more than 3.9 times the price of the Green Flash barley wine (on the East coast!).

Pours an amber brown with an everlasting head. Aroma is cotton candy, toasted marshmallows, citrus. Taste is the same plus caramel, honey, grapefruit and a long, salty bitter finish. Overall, a fantastic barleywine.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of toffee, carmel, oak, light vanilla, light peat and a hint of smoke. Palate was medium to full bodied with a smooth finish. Flavors of carmel, toffee, mlight plum, light peat and light oak with a smooth malty finish. Hides the alcohol well for such a big beer.
