Nose of fruit, booze and some dankness. Malty and sugary flavor with a semi-roasty and bitter finish. Not overly impressive, but I like the complexity in flavor.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Aroma of prunes, dried fruits and toffee. Rich flavour with lost of caramel and some roasty flavour, hints of oak with a slight sweetness, but not cloying. I get a slight hint of the Speyside whiskey in the flavour but less in the aroma. Probably started drinking this too cold, so let it warm up a bit more and aroma came out more. Pwn3d (1099), Manhattan, New York, USA

The finish has some light citrus hoppiness, faint oak, and whiskey. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. TampaBrew (889), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Very good barley wine, not overpowering at all. I’m new to the barley wine category, but this seems like a pretty good representation of the style. It was pricey though; more than 3.9 times the price of the Green Flash barley wine (on the East coast!). sebletitje (1995), Tampa, Florida, USA
