Dark amber color, huge brown off-white head. Good American hoppy aroma which is a bit sweet. Yeasty, sweetish hoppy and flowery. Nice malty background, a bit crisp carbonation. Good balance. Tasty IPA.

Bottled. Reddish amber colour, huge beige foamy head. Huge flowery, fruity and grassy hops in the nose along with slight caramelly and spicy notes. Flavour is very much the same with a sting of alcohol and even mild licorace in it. Slight yeastyness showing once it gets a bit warmer. Long spiced, hoppy and slightly licoracyish aftertaste. Very pleasant.

From a 500mL Bottle. Generously shared by Chris at the 2nd Annual Woodshop Tasting. Tasted side-by-side with the Amarilla IPA. Pours a ruddy amber color, somewhat hazy, with a healthy head of sudsy off-white. Aroma of orangey citrus with a little bit of earthy spice. Some light graham cracker malt characters back. Light to medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. A somewhat grassy hop character greets the tongue initially, along with some light dirty pine characters. Lightly caramelized, graham cracker malt flavors. Very thin on the backend, and seems to be considerably more oxidized than the Amarillo version. Shows promise of what was once a good IPA, but now is most likely a fond memory for those fortunate enough to have it fresh.

Near gushing to huge, dense & fine, pastel yellow head, resistant over near opaque, orange-amber beer. Hop onslaught with cookies, dry hopbales, intense lupulinearoma’s, flowery, and in the background, resiny as a wounded firtree. Somewhere a smell of sunflower oil. Again a very intense hopflavour. Flowery, nearly white wine-vinous at first, but going over in a dry-viscous resinflavour. Extremely hoppy; unidimensional but not unbalanced. The backing underneath is there, but cannot really contribute in flavour. Retronasal I pick up some bitter chocolate. Syrupy because of the hopoils, well-bodied. Hopflavours keep lingering forever, ending a bit metallic. An IPA with no compromise, a "press on regardless" kind - oh, no, that was a British hillclimb, I remember. One for the die-hard hopheads. Thanks to Carlo and Jeppe.

Bottle. Red with a shade of orange (shouldn’t it have been "a whiter shade of pale"?) and a dense/thick, white head - much like Mikkel himself. I was becoming more and more intoxicated at the time of this rating, but I can decipher, that it’s something with hops and malt in both aroma and flavour. I’ve also written, that it had too much malt in flavour. Doesn’t really say that much, does it?

Pour is opaque ruddy amber with a sticky small tan head...smell is wonderfully citric with apricots, grapefruit, lemongrass, and some dirt...taste is delightfully sweet with lots of delicate citric hints of bitterness all the way through the rich malty and chewy body...soft carbonation and perfect mouthfeel...

Bottle, thanks sk8viking (shared with ClarkVV and Sully). A nice hoppy and balanced IPA. Lots of bitter hops in here, with a slight sharp edge to the flavour. Some caramelly sort of malt, which add a touch of sweetness to both aroma and flavour. Lots of lovely earthy, aromatic hops in this one. I felt at times that the carbonation was to prevelant, but it wasn’t a huge decdiding factor in me liking or not liking this beer, as i thought this was a very good single hop variety IPA and one of my favourite IPA’s to date......the Simcoe IPA was next up!
