This is a rauchbier brewed with german rauchmalt and peated malt only. It's fermented with lager yeast at ale temperatures - like a California Common.

Hazy dark brown colour. Cold smoked aroma is distant and sparse. Chocolatey flavour is sweet and rich, with a gentle smokiness that interplays with the chocolate well, providing a complementary role. Full body. Overall, an interesting take, sweet and mellow.

Thanks to sk8viking for this beer. I like it. It’s a very nicely done smoked beer. Beautiful smokey aroma along w/ a smokey, but not overpowering flavor, it’s very enjoyable.

The beer is coming out of the bottle by it self, which makes it impossible to keep the sediment out of the glass, this makes the body unclear “top soil” colored, instead of brown, with yeast parts in it, huge creamy beige head; Not to big a nose and what is there is a bit thin: of cause there is smoked, in the way of smoked bacon and burning campfire, it also has a bit of both bitter and sweet chocolate as well as flowery, ripe peach like sweetness, with time in the glass the hop becomes more apparent in the form of pine and grapefruit juice; The body is balanced to the bitter side, a little sharp fitting carbonation, velvety like texture (almost to soft, to balance with the rest of the beer); The texture becomes a bit watery to fast in the finish, is a bit bitter and gets a little dry, the aromas are more of chocolate (very sweet milk chocolate) then of smoke. I am not a great Rauchbeer fan (either) bur this is the best one I have had. It is a good beer but needs more balance to really be able to compete.

Bottle at home, shared it with me. Dark brown/red, god light head. Burned malts, sweet malts , smoke, berries in the aroma. Taste: a little like malty whitebeer, malts, smoke, light aftertaste. Middel carbonated.
