Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Draft at EBF. Murky orange, firm pale head. Sweetish, bubblegummy aroma, passion fruity hops. Nicely hoppy, mango and citric fruity flavor, bubblegum, very smooth maltiness. Medium to full bodied, round soft carbonation. A good beer, nothing to do with a pilsner though.

Pours yellow/gold, with a lrge, white head. Aroma is subtle, but nice. Hops, floral notes, and grass. Flavor is hops, caramel, and malt. A simple beer, but a fun and easy one to drink.

EBF 2008, nice hoppy aroma, and flowery.. very very good. clear golden white head flavor is near perfect for my taste in a strong pilsene. still has the fresh pilsener taste, but so much more powerful. overall best pilsener i ever tasted.

Pours a cloudy, dark golden, amber color with a brilliant white, full, creamy, and rocky head; lace is plentiful and sporatic while longevity is good. Nose is pleasant with lots of bitter oranges, a nice floral note, caramel, cookie, and light grass. Flavor is similar with a great malt backbone of caramel and light biscuit and cookie; hop notes include lots of bitter oranges, lavender, light grass, light pepper, and some grapefruit peel. Palte is moderately full, soft to lively, somewhat creamy but still crisp in texture. Finishes long with more pepper making a presence, bitter oranges still lingering, grapefruit peel, and the moderately high bitterness making its full presence. A highly drinkable Imp Pils with a smooth palate and great hop flavors. Even with all the complementary malt and hop notes, the beer remains crisp. Not the best Imp Pils I’ve tried but one of the most drinkable and well put together lagers.

Bottle, with renffisch, 2nd September 2008. Amber with a very long lasting head which leaves lacing. Floral, perfumed aroma. Malty, nutty, mature cheese notes but with a good balancing bitterness. A very enjoyable beer. Certainly the best I’ve had in this style, by a country mile!

Pours a hazy gold and with a fluffy white head. Grassy aroma with a little hops. Picking up a floral scent. Flavor has a little clover and malty sweetness. Grassy hops definitely coming through there too. There is a wonderfully subtle and delicious beer. Finishes with a dry bitter and creamy body. I quite wish I had another glass.
