Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

a solid tasting beer, with many flavors. the flavor is crisp malts and the hops give a floral and slight piny like taste. The mouthfeel gives a nice heavy palate. a great beer.

Bottled. Hazy golden. Medium, white head. Grassy hoppiness and pretty sweet and malty aroma. Grassy bitterness with some faint alco-notes.

Bottle. Golden colour with a big white head. Very hoppy aroma of fresh grass, grapefruit and some pine. Tasty flavour of hops with a dry bitter finish. Worked very well for me.

Brought back from the PNW. Big bottle with silver foil over the cork and cage. Half gold beer with good carbonation and half actively morphing loose head. Nice hop aroma with definate alcohol presence, seems more like the ghost of an IPA. But the flavour is an initial alcohol rush and then an enjoyable fruity hop and alcohol mix that is actually quite tasty and enjoyable. A bit of a sour citrus residue in the mouth. Kind of a cross between a Tripel and a Malt Liquor. Much better than the Pyramid Imperial Pilsner I had Saturday.

deep orange pour, with a huge eggsehll head that leaves some beautiful lacing all over the sides of my glass. Aroma is lots of hops, some nice citrus here, with some pine, and some thick honey. Flavour is hoppy, and malty at the same time. The mouthfeel is thick, and very enjoyable. Lots of nice tangy bitterness in the finish. WOw, what an excellent beer. I think this is quickly becomming one of my favorite styles.

750 ml bottle shared by cdog69. Pours golden hinting towards orange or amber. Very floral nose, with a little bit of pilsner graininess. Very hoppy, yummy pilsnery flavor. Not over done like most of the beers that call themselves Imperial Pils. I could drink this beer all the time, and be refreshed. Medium body with high carbonation. Fairly dry finish. Very bitter. I like this.
