Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

750ml bottle @ Cardinal.Pours cloudy amber with a big off white head.Lovely pine and citrus aroma with a hint of peach.Flavor of citrus hops with a good malt backbone. The alcohol is masked very well which makes this beer dangerously quaffable. Fabulous use of hops.Very good.

Pours a cloudy golden amber/ orange color with a huge, foamy off-white head that settles into a lasting lace. Aroma is nicely balanced with hints of citrus peel, hops, crisp fruit, pine and malt. Very quaffable and excelently balanced, with a complex flavors. Nice malty backbone balancing out sweet crisp fruit, lemon and orange peel, and a nice citrus/ floral hop presence that lasts throughout. Alcohol warmth in the finish.

22 July at Cardinal. Extremely complex and tasty beer, and quite good after a while, but very expensive too.

750 ml bottle@Cardinal. Dim orange body with a big, foamy off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma, grapefruit, orange, caramel and grass. Flavor is fruity, refreshing, orange, malt, spices and relatively bitter. Nice body, feels heavy at the same time as it’s easy drinkable. Amazing good balance and no sign of the big alcohol. Dangerous!

Bottle at wine, cheese and beer store in Livingston, MT. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good moderate to heavy hoppy and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with with a moderate bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Nice find on this trip.
