Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Bottle (750ml corked and caged). No ClowGr’s tasting, shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev, My bottle, ’cause we can’t finish the night on friggin’ Blue De-Alcoholised Pilsener. BB Dec 13/09. Steady, now - the urge to rate this about 4.5 is very strong. Hazy light orange-amber, large lasting mottled beige/off-white head. The aroma - yes, alcohol, yes grassiness, but I’m getting some solid pine/citrus zest hops in there, and an odd fruitiness that really appeals. Taste - grassy, boozy, crisp and dry, sharply bitter and a long, long finish - we need more GOOD examples of this style (on the bottle is says "malt liquor"). Crisp, light, alcoholic, astringent to the nth - big and grassy, and well-made and thank you guys for helping me drink 750ml of this big bugger.

Courtesy of Beerlando. Pours a lightly hazy orange, with a small white head. Smells of pretty profound hops, some light citrus fruit, with a small malt presence. The flavor is moreprominent in its malt character as they take the forefront. A little bit grainy, but not annoyingly so. The hops are also definitely noticeable and all seem to join pretty well together to make up this beer’s identity. Another solid offering from this brewery.

Bottle… GIABMISGFAB… Murky golden lager with a small, fizzy, white head. The earthy aroma provides pale grains and misplaced PNW hops. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Nice bitterness; very pilsener-esque. Sweet finish is a touch salty and fairly crisp. Thanks to Beerlando for bringing this brew along with him!

Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy Beerlando. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick white head. Very light citrus and malt aroma. Malty with a touch of hops and a slight bitter finish. Light and subtle, very nice.

Merritt Island Throwdown ’08: Bottle, courtesy Beerlando. Pours a hazy straw yellow, with a medium filmy head, with good sheets of lacing. Hoppy aroma, with vanilla and caramel in the malty background. Spicy on the tongue, with a distinct hop profile. Sweet, and some slight citrus. Not really lager-like. Medium-bodied, easy drinking. Surprisingly balanced.

Pours deep gold into a lager glass. Fluffy white head collapses and laces upon itself. Caramel and slight grapefruit aromas. Smooth and crisp with nice balance.
