Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

660ml bottle (Porvoo Harvest/Dark Beer Festival 2007) cloudy orange, healthy head. lovely hoppy aroma, slightly gingery. strongly hoppy taste, but not excessively so. long and strong bitter finish. shockingly powerful, but not unpleasantly so.

Orange/yellow with everlasting head... Very hoppy aroma and taste, maybe to much actually! Bit of malt, hay and corn-like taste... Good balance, but to hoppy when thinking about pilsner/lager...

Orange with a big and lasting white head, leaving a nice lace. Hoppy aroma with peach and citrus. Intense and lasting bitterness, a very tasty drink.

pours golden with some haze. huge head. nice lacing. nose is big fruity hop almost like a IIPA. taste is bitter, hoppy. has some drieness. doesn’t taste like a white grape like the american imp pilsners that i have. this is my favorite imp pilsner.

Fantastic aroma of herbal hops and slightly sweet maltiness. Pours with a frothy white head, almost like bubble bath bubbles. Tastes like a pilsner in the herbal hops, dryness, but has a little sweetness due to the higher gravity. But that could be because this is not a very fresh bottle- 10 months! The hops have really held up. Herbal and fruity in the taste, but has a finishing sweetness that ultimately is still pretty dry. Very solid.

3rd LCRBM. Aroma has hoppy fruits. Slightly hazy, golden coloured with a white head. Taste is a bit sweet with more bitterness in the finish. It has fruity hops and a touch of malts. Nice. European strong lager?? Didn’t know I liked it.

Bottle@Kulminator, Antwerp. Citrus and red berries in the aroma. Oily earthy hops in the flavor, with a fair deal of red berries and citrus present. Long hoppy aftertaste. Straightforward, well made and well balanced beer.
