Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very hazy orange-amber with an average size lasting frothy white head. Nice hoppy aroma along with caramel malt, some grain and fruit. Flavour: Mmm, that’s tasty! Pleasantly hoppy backed by caramel malt. Nice long bitter finish. Alcohol’s reasonably well hidden. Medium bodied. Very good!

750 mL bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy orange with a large, creamy and frothy white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (hay, straw, meal, grain), heavy hops (flowers, grass, perfume), heavy yeast (sweat, earth) with notes of grapes, apple, pear, and sweet corn. Medium bodied, creamy and sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Bottle, rbesg 07. The hoppy smell fills my nose. A lvely, refreshing pilsener with an amazing dryness. A crate of those, please!

Corked and caged bottle. Medium sized extremely fizzy tan head that mostly expired, splotchy lacing, carbonation noted, and a golden hue. The aroma was malt, hoppy, citrus, spicy, hints of fruitiness, and grapefruit. The flavor wassweet, malt, hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, crisp, and somewhat of a dry finish. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. Quaffable and worthy of a try.

750ml bottle. Best by 12/13/09. Attractive aroma of citrusy hops, mango, and caramel. I love that combination. Poured a slightly hazy medium orange color. The head was thick, foamy, and white with excellent retention and lacing. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild to moderate hop bitterness (4 out of 10) that lingered. The flavor was similar to the nose (citrus and caramel). There was also a grassy note and some definite alcohol. Delicious beer. I would happily drink this any time.

Pricey 750 shared with my gf Cyn. Pours gold with a big puffy white head that has faded. Nose is really hoppy for a malt liquor which is what they say it is on the bottle. Very very nice and sweet with lots of hoppyness. I like this beer.

Tap, Olfestival. Slightly hazy golden color, short head. Aroma of hop, I guess Czech ones. Bit bitter taste, slight alcohol touch. Strong pilsener.

Brought back from the PNW. Big bottle with silver foil over the cork and cage. Half gold beer with good carbonation and half actively morphing loose head. Nice hop aroma with definate alcohol presence, seems more like the ghost of an IPA. But the flavour is an initial alcohol rush and then an enjoyable fruity hop and alcohol mix that is actually quite tasty and enjoyable. A bit of a sour citrus residue in the mouth. Kind of a cross between a Tripel and a Malt Liquor. Much better than the Pyramid Imperial Pilsner I had Saturday.
