Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

750ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken, Copenhagen last August. Shared at a Saturday night party in Tromsø. Almost clear golden body topped by a persistent white head. Nice smell of tangy orange peels. Multi-flavoured with weight on herbal hop bitterness and sweet sappy fruits. Easily my best lager so far ( 12.01.2008).

Big hopped imp pils? sounds good. Pours deep golden, bordering on light amber, with a soft white head that leaves sheets of lacing. Hoppy nose, citrusy with a light grapefruit character. Quick malts up front, but they give way to the hops rather quickly. Finishes dry and crisp.

750. Thanks, Maria! Pours deep murky amber with a towering sudsy white head. Acres of lace on the way down the glass. Nice forward (though not huge) tropical fruit nose: pineapple, mango, grapefruit. Very much a DIPA, or at least an IPA, in appearance, fragrance, and behavior. Nice rich body, tingly carb, plenty of fruity esters knocking around from the attack through the mid-palate to the finish. Incredibly tasty stuff. I’ll be shocked if this isn’t the highest I’ve ever rated a lager. Wonderful. Thank you, Maria!

(Rating #2123)

&50 ml bottle shared by Odeed! Thanks Jake! Nose of citrus hops with a tinge of pine and some caramel. Clear yellow gold with a medium, glass lacing, yellow tinged head. Flavor is light bitterness with some caramelly sweetness, but not too much. Finish is lightly bitter with a bit of balancing sweetness that masks the bitter for 15 or 20 seconds.

750ml Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of floral hops, candy, and Red Bull. Very hoppy aroma. Poured gold in color with a huge, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of floral hops, fruit, Smarties, and more hops. Medium body. Creamy, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Dry, floral hop finish. Sweetness is well balanced by the bitter hops. A nice brew.
