Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

750, thanks to after4ever. This beer seems off-style for a European Strong Lager, but I’m OK with that. Sort of an Imperial IPA done with lager yeast - a Baltic IPA? Pours a hazy bright copper with a fluffy white head. Nice pineapple and grapefruit nose. Taste of citrus over caramel. Building bitter finish.

Bottle thanks to Alex at Belmont Station in Portland--Poured a rich golden-copper body. Hoppy, dry crisp nose. Not like most imperial pils/European strong lagers of past. Crisp, dry, nice lager yeast. Finished especially astringent and smooth. Wow!

Bottle shared at tasting. Pours hazy orange with a beige head. Smell is very light on the alcohol with some subtle hops. Taste is sweet, light hops and some sweet cedary woodiness. Sweet and bitter at the same time but leaning too sugary to be very good. So so.

btl by Springslicker. Sweet corn and malt on the nose. A golden pour with creamy white head and lace. A surprising bitter following a corn malt sweetness. A tad foamy and thin. A drinkable beer I was surprised to find that it was 8%. Could get tricky as easy as it is to drink.

off orange pour w/ a big soapy white head and great lacing... Lightly cloudy body. Traditional belgian style aroma lots of spices.. definite coriander light alcohols touches of grain... another something I just couldn’t pick out behind the alcohol. Full well coated palate too astringent on the tongue. Flavor is too dry on the tongue, almost makes me think brett or wood, not enough resiz sugar for this beer.. some coriander and pepper seem to come through w/ a grassy finish... ok but I don’t like this much at all.
