Mar 14, 2009 Hell of a malt liquor - beats the hell out of Old E and Steel Reserve. Golden color with a big off-white head. Aroma of pale malt and grassy/citrusy hops. Like an imperial pilsner/American pale ale hybrid in a way. Flavor is sweet and malty with caramel and citrusy hops with slight pilsner notes. Nice full palate for the style. Well-balanced.

An imperial pilsner with heavy notes of hops and citrus in the aroma. Similar flavornotes with the addition of heavyness in the good way. A true hoppybomb. An overdosed pilsner in its best way. Take care because it is really wonderful!

Feb 19, 2008 750 ml bottle caged and faux corked. Moist citrus hops on the nose. Candle wax. Plenty of dry pine cone. Baked bread. Some dried and lightly sugared banana. Honestly... smells like a freshly opened bag of trail mix. Pours mostly clear bright copper with a huge, lasting white head that produces excellent, thick, chunky, sticky lacing. The dry-Euro-hops come through much more on the palate than on the nose. Quite dry and grassy. There’s enough citrus zest to hold my interest. Bready and doughy malt but the hops blaze through the malt. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Nicely balanced doughy malt and zesty hop finish. Imperial pilsner for sure!

Nov 29, 2007 Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Bright and thick pour of tangerine orange. Lemon meringue crust, grass and honey aroma; suggestions of earthy sweetness in pistachio and almond oils. Ebullient, cheerful hop flavors of flowers, rainy grasses, and citrus skins. Brilliantly alive and zesty. Crisp and earthy pilsener rests plaintively beneath, well-presented and deftly reserved, though malty enough to completely muscle out any hint of alcoholic foulness. Sparkly and lively in the mouth; vegetally textured. The hay-like bitterness of yerba mate and noble hops lend a quiet but forceful leafiness to the finish. Reserved, but not halfhearted in the slightest; this could not be any more skillfully done. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

Oct 26, 2008 Lovely orange color with a very large white head. Spicy floral hoppy nose. Super bitter taste with loads of pepper and grass notes. Some alcohol at the finish. Solid.

Apr 14, 2008 bottle from west lakeview..... pours a semi hazy orange brown with a thin soapy white head..... nose was primarily of light tropical fruit hops and citrus notes..... flavors continue on a similar path. sweet sugary malt with tropical and citrus fruits. light and fluffy on the palate but nothing to make this one shine.... expensive but worth a try in my mind.

Apr 14, 2009 Bottle Blond, hazy body. Lightly creamy body. Spare lace. Great, smooth aroma of citrus (orange), maybe a little bit sharp on the citric edge. Heavily bitter, subtle and smooth flavour. Maybe a bit tart, but very nice.
