Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Amazing head retention, creamy yet rocky. The aroma boast some sensual dry hopping and hints of plums. Orange and grapefruit zest, plums, red apple, biscuity toasted honey wheat bread flavor. - Dangerously drinkable!

Date: 08/30.08, bottle from CelticBrew, and shared with him, Steve E., and Doboy.

Aroma - Grainy, some hay, and some nice spicy hops

Appearance - Sparkling clear gold under a billowing, creamy, white head that leaves sticky rings of lace

Flavor - Light malty sweetness of hay and grass, balanced quickly by a refreshing bitterness tjat ushers in a welcome dry finish.

Palate - Medium body and carbonation, smooth and creamy, dry palate

Overall - Nicely balanced, flavorful, another well crafted beer from Mikkeller

Dark gold pour with decent white head. Fruity nose with a touch of hops and added sugar. Flavor is candy coated orange zest fortified with alcohol. Medium body with a warm clean finish.

Bottle from Sam’s Clybourn. I think it is fair to call this an imperial pilsner. Distinctly German, but Pilsner nonetheless. Pour is a hazy gold with rambunctious head. Tasty and bitter, huge noble hop aroma, a little bread. Mostly, though, this is really hoppy and bitter in a clean, somewhat astringent way. Pretty nice, but far from perfect.

Crushed with Jakebra. Not sure how to feel about this one. Kinda like a saison without the funk. Lots of grassiness and hay in there. Little musty. Not sure what to make of it, but I do know I kinda dig it.

Poured 24 karat with a massive 3-inch head that slowly receded but left mountains of foam on the side of the glass. Aroma is grassy and extremely floral (more so than any beer I can remember)...similar to what one would experience in an orange grove. Flavor is crisp and fruity...with obvious tangerine, nectarine, and orange. Amazing beer...not sure why others were so harsh in their ratings.

Bottle, RBESG Grand Tasting 07. Hazy golden, thin white head. Nose is fruity hop, some dusty hops too. Mouth is packed full of fruity hop, some malty chocolate too. Really really nice.
