Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized long lasting bubbles that left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated orange colored body, The aroma was malty hoppy and contained a buttery note. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish. The flavor was mildly vinous with a malty note and a slightly acidic aftertaste.

Draught @ Copenhagen Øl Festival 2007. Average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Good display of lacework. Clear sparkling body with a lovely golden colour. Aroma was very floral with hint of elderflower, liquorish, caramel, citrus and light spice. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation and a dry texture. Flavour was moderated bitter with good sweet liquorish to balance this wonderful Strong Lager. Dry and lingering bitter finish.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Clear cornyellow - white head. A lot of hops, citrus, grape, grass, resin, a very weak body, not much malty character. A crips mouthfeeling. Dry !! Interesting..

(Bottled, 0.75l) Very hazy amber with a small, tight head. Quite crisply grassy-hoppy aroma with some malt sweetness. Very hoppy, dry and grassy flavor - like Pilsner Urquell squared. Well-hidden alcohol, but could use some more malt. Medium-bodied, crisp and slightly alcoholic, but reasonably balanced palate. Nice (especially using lager yeast), but quite straightforward overall.

Hazy green golden, off-white head. Light citrus & peach aroma. Citric and peachy hops dominate the flavor as well. Sparkly mouthfeel - feels lighter than it is. Very nice.
