Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

(75 cl bottle, thanks Marsiblursi!) Shady orange color, white fluffy head. Apricot and grape hoppy scent. Green hops, rather fresh. Grape, bitter apricots, green hops taste. High bitterness, smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle at home purchased from Cave Direct Beer Merchants (Mixed case of Mikkeller Beer) Pours warm gold with a big clean bubbly white head. Pine and citrus notes soar off of this beer, these two also combine to great effect in the mouth along with a touch of cape gooseberry just to add an additional tang, I like this but feel that it comes across as more of an IPA than a European strong lager, I’m really surprised that it isn’t an IPA, anyway regardless of where it sits its lovely. Yet another very good beer from Mikkeller.

Bottled. Thanks Marsiblursi. Cloudy dark yellow colour. Low head. Fresh lemony aroma with a light touch of sweet mango or comparising tropical fruits. Sweetish flavour, alcohol feel with delicious notes of tropical fruits. Nicely attenuated still, in spite of the sweetness. Dry and tad sweet at the same time? Light chewy, almost fizzy mouthfeel. Perfect balance of sweet and dry. Good steady bitterness.

750 ml corked and c aged bottle poured a clear orange with a lasating off white head. Aromas of straw, fruitiness, pine, citrus and a hint of earthinerss. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of straw, earthiness, light pine and light grapefruit with a smooth lingering biotter finish.
