Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

from crackedkettle.com - hazy dark blond-orange colour with a little white foam; aroma of quince, pear and honey; good malt body but not heavy mouthfeel, fair and rounded bitterness, long flowery aromatic hoppy finish with more honeyish touches - very drinkable and pleasant

Cloudy golden-beige. BIg hoppy, saazy kind of nose with light but rounded malts. Full pale malt character is smooth and rounded, with a heavy hop bitterness.

Bottle 750 ?ml, Appearance: murky amber with large presentable head (medium density). Some lace on side. Aroma: gentle aromatic hopping , flowery side with mild smooth sweetness , barley and alcohol. Flavor/Palate: full bodied, mushy ,grainy. Oats with bitter hopping following drying alcohol. Interesting unfiltered character with potency hop spiced. Very drinkable , clean strong lager. Solid, world class brew.

Bottle (c&c) from Marcus. Many thanks. Sort of a copper color with a frothy, bubbly off-white head. Lots of hop - floral, grassy, spicy. Medium body with creamy/frothy carbonation. Flavor is strong. Strong hop and strong malt. Not at all bitter; well that overstates the matter, but it sure isn’t a NW hop giant; a more gentlemanly bitter. . Not hot. Indeed it seems to have a lot of nobility. Perhaps not quite clean, but it is crisp. A most excellent lager. How can it be other than the best ESL? At least for now.

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Hazy golden colour. Nice aroma of hops - spicy, oaky and fruity. Unfortunately I drank it too warm, but the flavour was still spicy and quite OK. Rerate, 750 ml "champagne" bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy, with a big and slightly off-white head. Lovely aroma of Amarillo and Cascade hops, with spicy and fruity (citrussy) notes, also hints of caramel. The flavour is spicy and zesty, with grapefruity hops but it is not too bitter. Hints of candi sugar and oak, but the beer is not sweet. Dry and slightly astringent finish. Alcohol is noticeable, but the beer is still dangerously drinkable for its strength. I’m upping it a point. In danger of repeating myself: Well done (again), Mikkel!

Bottle Blond, hazy body. Lightly creamy body. Spare lace. Great, smooth aroma of citrus (orange), maybe a little bit sharp on the citric edge. Heavily bitter, subtle and smooth flavour. Maybe a bit tart, but very nice.

(on tap -draft bear aka fadbamse, yeah I got it) Slightly yellow, white head. Good hopping the nose, makes one espect a powerfull beer. Taste is first sweet, but very balanced. The hopping never gets to dominating. Get´s very easily drinkable as one drinks on. This is just a fab IIIPilsner and shows that a hardcore beer, can be smooth and so inviting.
