Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

deep orange pour, with a huge eggsehll head that leaves some beautiful lacing all over the sides of my glass. Aroma is lots of hops, some nice citrus here, with some pine, and some thick honey. Flavour is hoppy, and malty at the same time. The mouthfeel is thick, and very enjoyable. Lots of nice tangy bitterness in the finish. WOw, what an excellent beer. I think this is quickly becomming one of my favorite styles.

Bottle - Golden to amber clear body, huge creamy long lasting white head, leaving beautiful lacing; Beautiful, beautiful nose with lots of very fine malty elegance, toped in a fine and balanced way with pleasant flowery hop aromas and softened by a fine amount of alcohol sweetness; Huge body in any way, huge quite big bubbled carbonation, very malty big and very quite malty bitter, balanced slightly sweet; Evolving into a very big finish where the Imperial touch really shows, very powerful again with a big amount of both malty and hoppy bitterness, flower and resin aromas, backed with very pleasant malty aromas as well. By far the best Imperial Pilsner I have had, but also the freshest. The only drawback is that it almost finishes to bitter.

Pours a cloudy, dark golden, amber color with a brilliant white, full, creamy, and rocky head; lace is plentiful and sporatic while longevity is good. Nose is pleasant with lots of bitter oranges, a nice floral note, caramel, cookie, and light grass. Flavor is similar with a great malt backbone of caramel and light biscuit and cookie; hop notes include lots of bitter oranges, lavender, light grass, light pepper, and some grapefruit peel. Palte is moderately full, soft to lively, somewhat creamy but still crisp in texture. Finishes long with more pepper making a presence, bitter oranges still lingering, grapefruit peel, and the moderately high bitterness making its full presence. A highly drinkable Imp Pils with a smooth palate and great hop flavors. Even with all the complementary malt and hop notes, the beer remains crisp. Not the best Imp Pils I’ve tried but one of the most drinkable and well put together lagers.

75 cl bottle. Dark golden color, big white head. Hoppy and fruity, citric and some caramel. This is how I like my pilsener....

Nice light caramel slightly hazy pour with off white head, sticky lacing. Nose starts with some citrus and florral hop aromas leading to slightly roasty sweet malt character. Flavor is again citrus hops up front, medium bitterness, some pine coupled with a well balanced malt sweetness. Finishes toward a pleasant grasswy note, some soapy notes from the hops. This drinks very easily. body is slightly creamy with mild carbonation. Another winner from Mikkel.

Flaske.

Pours a honey gold with thick, heavy white head that quickly dissipates to white lacing. Aroma is of honey, caramelized hops with undertones of yeast. Flavor is hops and caramel. The hops are definitely sweetened , flavor is of an interesting caramelized hops. Quite delicious, rich beer that is a rich more flavorful pilsner. Very delicious. I am quite impressed.
