Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

&50 ml bottle shared by Odeed! Thanks Jake! Nose of citrus hops with a tinge of pine and some caramel. Clear yellow gold with a medium, glass lacing, yellow tinged head. Flavor is light bitterness with some caramelly sweetness, but not too much. Finish is lightly bitter with a bit of balancing sweetness that masks the bitter for 15 or 20 seconds.

750 ml corked bottle enjoyed@Olympen, Oslo. A hazed orangey-golden body topped by a massive, frothy offwhite head. Strong and inviting citric and floral hop aroma paired with a light peppery, caramellish and deliciously sweet malt scent. Taste has light sweet, well prononced, yet soft malt base, balanced by a grassy and fruity hopbitterness. Notes of mild spices and pine. Well-bodied. Smooth. A fine bitterness in the finish. Powerful, clean and balanced. I like this beer a lot.

I am pretty sure I got a good deal on this bottle, it was priced at $6.99 for 750ml. The color was a hazy orange and it smelled like a peppery, grassy IPA. There are obviously a good amount of hops in this beer. the first taste reminds me a little of Sam Adams imperial pilsner, a very fruity, hoppy flavor. This beer has convinced me to drink more of Mikkeller’s beers. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-08-2008 05:32:00

[1285-20080410] 1pt9.4floz. Tangerine lemon pip hops aroma, lots of sweet pips. Hazy, medium orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Sweet orange bitter pip hops flavour has notes of lemon slices. Medium body is bitter. Very nice bitter, well-balanced.

750 ml. Clear orange-amber with a large head that settles down to a lasting ring, leaving cobwebs behind. Aroma similar to an IPA: citrus, resin and flowery honey. Flavors are similar and well-hopped. Slight additional hints of dryish lager yeast, grass and alcohol that linger in the aftertaste. I would swear this was an IPA if it wasn’t labeled otherwise. Light-medium body is lightly carbonated and finishes dry.

I tasted this beer before I got my account with ratebeer, so I can’t really remember all the flavors.

750 ml bottle. If this is pilsner than I want more pilsners. To me it was more like a combo of belgian blonde and apa.Pours a nice amber color. Nice hoppy but yeasty nose, smells great, saying drink me now. Kind of a creamy mouthful, but delicious and very drinkable, a great session beer, but watch it with the 8%. Very nice hop flavor with a nice bitter finish.
