Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s looking really nice in the glass, with its black body topped by a small, dense brown head leaving some fine lacings. Slightly sourish roasted nose with a little spicey touch. Quite heavy. Coffeeish, spiced, roasted flavor with the same sourish touch found in the aroma. Full-bodied and slightly warming. Lasting roasted finish with spices. Too spiced for my preference. Well, at least in combination with that kind of beer. Still, a good one. (081110)

Bottled 750ml, plastic cork (BB 09/2012). Dark brown color, good espresso head, some lace. Nose has dried prunes, caramel, sourness and tiny earthy-herbal and peaty note. Roasted, ashy flavor. Cold coffee, dark chocolate, sweetish edge in the finish. This should contain smoke malts, but it is not really "smokey", but it is peaty when beer warms up. Some Christmas spices too (clove). Decent, complex winter beer. Does not feel like 8 %.

Black with a big and lasting light brown head. Strong aroma of licorice with some chocolate, cinnamon and dried fruits. Dry and roasted flavour with some fruity sweetness. Spices are noticed, but burned and roasted notes dominate.
