750ml bottle courtesy of Lene at Franklins. Plastic cork. Opaque black color with a thick, foamy, rusty tan-colored head. Chocolate winter aroma, quite fresh. The taste is big, rich, and roasty, but remains silky and delicate on the palate. Smooth with a little smoky smoothness, lots of cocoa subtleties. Perfect mellow balanced hop balance, the alcohol is perfectly veiled. An excellent winter beer with very smooth new school Danish smoothness.

Light brown foam with nice head. Aroma of chokolate, coffee and malt. The flavor is rich with burnt sugar, coffee, chokolate and a very malty after taste.

very dark brown with a huge f(fucking apostrophe)n khaki head. light roast nose with a toasted tootsie roll scent. hmmm, tastes like it smells, toasted tootsie roll. some lingering vanilla and some sesame seed oil. i really like this more than my notes reflect. but this is not a complex 5 paragragh beer. it is straight forward good. 5 8 9 4 19

Big brown ridiculously creamy head, and lacing! Colour is pitch black. Aroma is surprisingly mild, but it is roasted enough to make me excited. spices, burnt coffee, brown sugar and dark chocolate is also in the nose. Flavour is rich and with a big bite, spices and a heavily roasted note of coffe and chocolate finishing with a very appealing bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is smooth as silk. Mikkeller is quickly becoming my favourite brewery!

750mL bottle from 2008. Pours a near-black with mahogany highlights and a HUGE and creamy chestnut/mocha head that leaves chunks of lacing down the side of the glass. A rich aroma full of wintry spices - loads of cinnamon, clove, anise, dark chocolate, roasty coffee, and caramel. Goes down velvety smooth and full-bodied. Starts with lots of creamy caramel and some dark chocolate flavors. Roasty coffee and cinnamon follow. A bitter finish with some more tingly holiday spiciness and hints of citrusy hoppiness. Lingering dryness.

750 ml bottle at Gunnfryds birthday party. Dark body with a glimpse of red and a dense brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, clove and liquorices. Flavor is sweet, dark, roasted malt, coffee, cloves and more Christmas spices. A warming nice body with a fine balanced bitterness and long spicy finish with alcohol.
