Ungstrup (14723), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 29, 2009 Entered to celebrate my rating number 14,300. Cask at EBF 2008. A red beer with no head. The aroma is both sweet and acidic, leaning on acidic with strong notes of raspberries, but also notes of wood and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet and acidic with strong notes of raspberries as well as notes of wood, leading to a dry finish. The acidity burns lightly on the palate. Enjoyit (1695), Vadum, Denmark Sep 28, 2009 Hazy reddish of color with a weak reddish head. An aroma of red berries, sour and no sweets. A flavor of red berries, weak sweets and sour. TimE (1300), Tokyo, Japan Apr 23, 2009 Massive, massive brett nose with just a faint hint of raspberries. Very sour start and then wham raspberry puree is everywhere. Amazing character. Sourness just dies in the end. Wow. Truly a great lambic. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 21, 2008 Cask @ EBF 2008. Slightly hazy, raspberry red body with an ultra thin pink head. Aroma is vinegar fruity and barnyard. Flavor is dominated by acid, and sour fruit. This is a full bodied, authentic style fruit lambic. Seems to me like it is still quite fresh, even after three years storage, wonder what a few more years might do with this? Nice and raw. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Dec 5, 2008 Cask at EBF 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark. Unclear medium clear red color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy raspberry, tart and sour, wood, iodine notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy acidic with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. 120908 yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 29, 2008 Cask at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. It pours an almost clear candy red lovely-looking body with a layer of pink bubbles on top. Barnyard, horse blanket, vinegar and citrus on the nose, with some berries in the background. Intensely sour in the mouth, still with a candy like raspberry flavor. Lemon juice, a funky touch and sourness too. Everlasting finish with acidic and sourness combined with raspberries. Really bone dry. Sure not an easy to drink beer, maybe too intense, but still lovely. (080912) rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Nov 2, 2008 (EBF 2008) Somewhat hazy red with almost no head. Sweet fruity aroma with quite alot of raspberries. Sourish raspberry flavor, woody, rather fruity. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 12, 2008 (On tap) Hazy and opaque red with no head. Extremely sour nose with the raspberries nervously peeping through. Medium body with good clean raspberry notes. Extemely sour all through the finish. On level with some of the best Belgian Fruit lambics. 120908
