Commercial Description:
Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Noogfest A big, fluffy, off-white head forms easily over this clear, dark gold bodied brew. Subtle hop aroma. A big bitterness arrives early in the flavor department and leaves the malts trying to catch up the whole time. A bit out of balance to me.

Bottle... O-Town Throwdown Part Tres... Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Earthy, funky nose first smells of caramel, then smells of sweaty socks and leather... in a good way? A bit of a stretch, but the best I can do. The flavor is caramel sweetness followed closely by medium, earthy bitterness with just a pinch of salt. Medium-bodied and astringent with modest carbonation. Coarse, Mojave-dry finish. Thanks go out to TheCheeseMan for supplying the bottle!

Pours deep gold with a slight haze and off white head. The aroma is very green and shrub-like with a mild dash of flower pedals. The taste starts with a brief sweet maltiness that quickly gets covered by green shrubbery, some floral hops and a trickle of malt sweetness. The hop bitterness grows with floral and spicy hops. It ends with a tasty Munich pale maltiness. Very cool interpretation of the style. A mild hop bitterness persists into the after taste.

Bomber in trade with Maria. I found this brew to be the least pleasurable of all the Mikkellers I’ve had so far. I think all this contract brewing and hype is playing itself out a bit. Nose is medium with sugary malts and orange peel. Pours a murky syrupy orangish amber funk. The bright white head almost looks out of place. Big punch of malts and then to some teerth biting acidity. finish isn’t lean. This brew is unbalanced and does not flow from start to finish. I felt like I was in traffic.

Hazy golden body that has deep orange in the center. A small white head leaves behind minor arc lacing. The aroma is filled with grassy hops and adequate though light toasted grain. There is also a Chex cereal grain note. The nose is lightly sweet and lightly acidic. Sweet malts break out first, bitterness following directly afterwards and flowing to the top of the chain. Hops are both grassy and floral, a resiny coating splattering the tongue. Medium-high bitterness, low sweetness, mild acidity. The finish is crisp, clean and highly bitter. The mouthfeel is mildly carbonated, medium bodied, watery pockets. A unique take on the style, nothing impressive resulting, though this does have quite a bit of character and pizazz.

Courtesy dsnowden. Hazy, bright orange-amber body. A minimal, bubbly white head leaves behind random spotted lace. The aroma is very floral and herbaceous. Grassy, floral, and minty hops dance atop a light and sweet caramel malt base. It does indeed smell very green. The flavor shows a toasted caramel base that is moderately sweet. Sage makes an appearance, blending well with faint mint to add a refreshing element. Substantial, but not overpowering, the hops are a mix of floral and grassy flavors. Body is just on the heavy side of medium and very smooth. Finishes somewhat dry and dusty. Refreshing and clean, this is an interesting take on the style.

Courtesy dsnowden. Slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Interesting aroma - strong, sweet, almost candied, hop aroma. Taste not as sweet as anticipated. Hops are moderately strong, grapefruity and the finish was slightly peppery and lingered nicely on the palate. Interesting aroma, well-done IPA.
