Mild sour fruits, smoke and minerals to taste. Definately a mild gueze note here. Palate weight is super light but well matched to more lambic / gueze sour fruits. Good tangy minerals and citrus friuts as well. There’s a good deal of complexity here for a light beer, and whilst it lacks obvious punch, you do need to sit quietly and think about it. Certaintly not too far is taste from the Tje beers from Amsterdam. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a small fizzy white head. Big brett nose of horse stench and citrus. Dry and thin body, mildy tart finish. Flavor has a lot of wheat to it, finish is nutty, lots of brett phenols throughout, very earthy/dusty. Sort of like a thinner aged Orval. Overall decent, but a touch to thin. Kind of a let down for Mikkeller. gunnar (588), Sandnes, Norway

Pours a golden hazy body with a white head. Sour brett nose with hints of wood and nut. Leon zest with a huge dominant hazelnut and nutty body, cheese provolone. light lemon dry. Its Alright! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Lightly hazed, light straw color. Tallish, white head with decent lace. Strong barnyard scents, with fresh grains, urine, orange blossom, honey and dried oak. Definitely complex, but I’m not sure where it is headed. Mild apple start, with lots of peel. Dusty, with a barnyard again present. Some floral hops in the middle. Finish is lightly tart. Some malt returns in the linger with a light honey and pale malt flavors. In a way it seems a bit too light to support the big brett, but in others it is a light ale to be enjoyed in a wild flower field on a hot summer day. Some perfume flavors creep in as it get warmer and the stronger brett flavors fade. Interesting stuff. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Sweaty brett and cider nose. Peppery, fizzy, active, effervescent. Wheat, grass, sour metallic citrus bitterness. Light lactic sourness, lasting sour cream texture. Is this trying to be Orval light? God damn this is good stuff. BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Heavily carbonated with faint white head that dissipated quickly. Faintly citrus & sour aroma with a light funk to it. A parching dry body with a yeast dominant flavor. A great grainy flavor gives it some decent body before a lightly soured body. If this weren’t so damn expensive stateside, I’d purchase this beer by the case. Lalli (164), Helsinki, Finland
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 6, 2009 0,33l bottle. Hazy light golden color, little to no head. Aroma reminds me of lambic, quite sour with tones of lemon, plum and soy. Flavor is quite strong in yeast, sour also, but does not quite live up to the promising aroma. A bit of disappointment, especially as it is my 100th rated beer.
