Pours with a large, white head that fades over a murky gold body with good lacing. Aroma is Brett, earth, honey, horse, horse droppings, baby diaper and grass. Tastes like horse/barnyard, wheat, grain astringency, and stinky cheese. Light bubbles and a water like consistency. mar (1945), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Draught at Plan B, copenhagen Hazy blond color. It frankly smells bad, at first, with escrements (?); then replaced by a sour aroma, horseblanket. Weak body, with a dry mouthfeel and light woody astringency. I’m not overwhelmed by this one, but it’s not too bad. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

Sourish fruity aroma.
A hint of vinegar, a drop of honey. Spices, ripe fruit. Peaches that have been left a bit too long. A hint of citrus, but dry rather than sour. Wonderfully complex, another winner. Brix (377), Denmark

I really like the smell of this one, but to me it seems too much like a watered down geuze. And not a great one. It’s drinkable, but I think it has some off-flavours, that are to hard to overlook. It’s hard to describe, but the finnish is a bit harsh in a bad way, IMO. It can beat a lot of other beers in the style (which I don’t think is "belgian ale"), but I expect more from Mikkeller. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Cloudy, yellow beer with medium white head. Aroma is pleasant and sophisticated, slightly sour, apples, parfym, some sweetnessa and grass. Flavour is quite sour and dry, flowers and spyciness. Quite light but sourness and dryness makes this nice this to drink. Mikkeller It’s Alight! is complex and balanced beer and you will got sophisticated and great feelings after this beer. willblake (2190), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 9, 2009 20090209 11.2oz bottle from State Line. It’s Alright. Hazed golden color with small, fading coating and ring of white froth. Aroma is odd with strong sour dough notes, musty hay, light orange, and hints of sweaty feet. Flavor is at first crisp with more hay and barnyard notes, but quickly gets filling and coating with potent dough and mild cheese flavors. Majority of malt notes come as a soggy stale bread flavor. Very light acidity compliments heavy eff like a glass of ginger ale. Well, it’s not all bad, or is it? Is it a challenging session beer, or is it just a light pale beer overpowered by some cheesy, weird De Proef funk? Jukkabro (3039), Tampere, Finland
