The aroma trumps the taste! Light, pale straw in color with many mysterious floaters. Aroma redolent of apples, pineapples, grass and lemon merengue pie! Mouthfeel is not very desirable; taste not so impressive - it’s kinda like a WIt beer fallen astray - extraordinarily different! Sour aftertaste that falls short on the palette. Not to my liking.

Bottled. Crazy aroma, dirty socks and lockerroom sweat and real old cheddar cheese, with a hint of sourness underneath. It’s kind of rough and stinky but for some reason I enjoy it none-the-less. Super dry, musky, horsey flavor, with that same very faint sourness leading out the finish. Enjoyable in its own, stinky way.

bottle. Poured a hazy gold color with a white head of average size. Aroma of yeast, sugar, funky/brett, fruit, and earth. Flavor was a bit weird, some leathery like elements to it. Almost tastes like the smell of a barn. Some yeast and fruit elements. Not a big fan of this one at all.

11.2oz bottle as "It’s Alright" with 22/10/12 stamped on the bottle cap. Pours a yeast hazed, bright orange-golden body with a finger-width, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a veil of lacing that remains throughout the session. Aroma is distinct brett with a citrusy, flowery hop backing. Some sour apple, a touch of honey, a light funk, and some dry earth. I like this aroma. Not too funky with a nice fruity brett. The flavor caught me a bit off guard. Not as much distinct brett as the aroma. More of a dry cereal grain, astringent wheat with some horse-cheese. Still maintains a slightly sour apple and the very dry, straw-like bitterness has some citrus resins. Actually finishes like I just sucked on a piece of straw. Thin bodied and somewhat watery, but very crisp and refreshing. Overall, I really like the aroma, but the flavor was a little mild and too grainy. It was enjoyable and refreshing, but there are other Mikkeller products I prefer to this.

33cl bottle labelled "Alight" date 22/10/12 on the cap. Pours crystal clear yellow with a small head that is short lived. No lacing at all. A small bubbly ring stays. i only poured 3/4 of the bottle as I can see a lot of deposits at the bottom of the bottle. I shall taste the last 1/4 at the end. Nose is quite sour with light brett notes. Kinda feels like a lambic to the nose. After a minute or so i only smell brett and barnyard. After 10 minutes it is very leathery, barnyard and stinky feet. Some green apples too. Taste is nothing close from what i was expecting. Really thin bodied and light. Hints of brett, tiny bitterness. Bone dry and crisp like I have rarely seen. Light sourness. Moderately astringent. This is a bit too weird for my taste. Not even sure if i like it or not. Last 1/4 is hazy pale yellow (pear colored). First smell is nice sour, funk and brett. Palate is dead flat. Taste similar to the first part. Not better. i would not be surprised if the beer was bad but since my observations are consistent with some other person’s ratings before me it should be ok. All in all, weird beer.

Bottle. Aroma is winey grapes, some cherries, sweet blueberries, quite tart. Taste is more subtle than the aroma, some cherries quite herbal some tartness but some sugar as well. Mouthfeel is a bit fizzy, medium-long with a very dry finish. Very good light.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Nice dry and geuze like aroma with notes of dry grape, wood, earth and a faint sweetness. Flavour is bitter/sour grape, a little hops and apple and a hint of orange. A nice and refreshing brew.

THOUGHTS: Wow. A sour, funky session beer. It’s a shame most people, including myself, could never afford to drink this beer for a full session. I don’t understand why American brett beers don’t ever seem to get this funky or sour, except for maybe Jolly Pumpkin beers. This would go nice with some really funky cheese. TECHNICAL: Bottle, labeled Alright. Poured a light to almost medium yellow that was really kind of golden with a small, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished and left virtually no head. There were also a few tiny, stray particles in the body. The aroma was heavy horse blanket, barnyard, leather, died saliva, sour funk yeasts and some apple cider. The initial flavor was very lightly sweet, sour, very acidic and funky; while the finish was rather sour, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The flavor was nice, but light except for funk and sour. There was apple cider, sour fruit, funk, yeast, some hop bitterness and a little lemon. The light body was dry with a lightly fizzy carbonation and a dry and moderately astringent finish, that made me want to keep sipping.
