| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville. Pours hazybright gold with fizzy white head. Nose of lemon, wood, brett, sour apples, and some mild banana. Lovely aroma. First sip is similar but ends ashy and weird. That aspect seems to settle down and the flavors are more like the aroma. A bit of a thin finish, but this is lovely, and I love the low abv. You had me at "Belgian Wild Ale." stefanje (958), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 29, 2009 11 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head that quickly dissipates to a faint ring. The aroma is strong with sweet apples, pears and some funky sour grapes. The flavor is similarly funky but much of the fruit promised in the nose never materializes in the taste. The palate is somewhat thin and watery, with fizzy carbonation. The finish is short and funky. Overall: I like the funkiness but this beer just falls apart with the weak palate. boFNjackson (1323), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Bottle... Poured hazy golden with a thick, white head. Really potent Brett all over the aroma with the horse blanket, barnyard funk. Nice dry beer. And it’s great that it’s 4.5%. A lot of beers like this brewed in the states are much stronger with the abv. Light fruit flavors, with the bretty finish. Acidic and bacteria-like yeast notes all the way through. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours hazy straw color, topped with an average sized white head. Beautiful, funky aroma with lactic acid and lemon the primary fragrances, and wheat and sour apple in the background. Flavor is wheat and wild yeast for an instant, then a totally unexpected peaty, ashy flavor enters the mix. The flavor is not as alluring as the aroma. Finishes with an earthy, peaty flavor, along with some wild yeast. Not bad, but the flavor is much more impressive than the taste. aracauna (2427), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Very clear pale gold. Some particles floating, but not cloudy. I did not pour the dregs from the body. The aroma is funkier than the flavor with sour apples and very light horse blanket. The flavor is much less sour than expected from the flavor, but the slight tartness is quite refreshing. One of the more chuggable sour ales I’ve had. j12601 (1366), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle at Pizza/Birreria Paradisio. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a thick dense creamy white head. Nice big brett and funk, big and cheesy. Sweet, not as funky as the nose would suggest, but a nice big brett component. Dry and more brett on the finish. A little thin and one dimensional, but still tasty.
