| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with big off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malts but also with citrus notes. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, a little coffee with a bitter finish. For me, this was is "stouty" brown ale. But good. tiggmtl (4310), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Thick rich chewy chocaltey malt aroma with plenty of citrus hop character in the nose. Opaque brown body is topped by a decent and lasting tan head that leaves some spotty lacing. Thick round malt flavours offer chocolate and biscuit and toasty notes coupled with fairly assertive bitterness. Medium body with pleasantly prickly carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature Bottle (Tappet den 01 08 2006, Holdbar til 01 09 2007). Bieropholie. Jun-07. trapez (791), Hilleroed, Denmark

Clear dark brown colour with beige head. There is much bitterness in flavour, like a grapefruit. lamas (715), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2009 500mL bottle. Pours a murky mahogany with a big tan head. Aroma leans more toward the hoppy side - grapefruity, piney smells dominate. However, some coffee and vanilla beans poke their heads out occasionally. Smells like a coffee house at times. Medium to thin-bodied. Biscuity maltiness dominates the initial flavors. Some sweet caramel, light chocolate, and nuttiness follows. Finishes with some drying, bitter hoppiness. Not too shabby for a brown ale. Habanero (617), Tranbjerg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Pours a clear deep dark brown with frothy off white head. The aroma is roasted malts mixed with brown sugar and mild caramel. It then moves more roasty and burnt as opposed to sweet. The taste is smooth and starts with roasted malts along with a mild malt astringency. It then becomes mildly sweet but with even more roasted malts than the early part of the taste. Into the finish I get more malt astringency that is just right for the style nuplastikk (1175), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Updated: Jan 8, 200916.9 oz longneck bottle. Rich thick brown black colors, with some orange corners where the light can get through. Decent head. Amazingly fresh aroma of syrupy hops. The taste is quite nice and hoppy as well, with no spiciness, just an earthy sweet bitterness. This beer is awesome, maybe the best brown ale I’ve ever had. The malts are there, they just happen to be perfectly balanced with the unapologetic hops. Bittersweet dark malt aftertaste. Another amazing beer from Mikkeller.
