Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Bottle. What the fuck happened here? I am pretty sure this bottle had something very strange happen. I’m almost convinced that this was mislabeled. Pale amber-brown, very clear with a thick head. Nose is hoppy with light caramel notes. Flavor is also hop-heavy, sort of a stale hop character. Tastes nothing like a brown and nothing like a coffee-beer. Tastes like a malty IPA with a touch of chocolate. I’m confused and disappointed.

Apr 2, 2008 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark brown body. Foamy head. Roasted coffee aroma. Taste is also real roasty with chocolate well-pronounced. Also taste of coffee, toffee and licorice. Very creamy texture. Quite bitter as well. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark red brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are nutty and spicy with chocolate and roast malts. Woody and yeasty. Flavours are very bitter coffee with yeast and spices. Peppery and prickly with some sweet cola. Burnt, woody notes come through along with grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Good stuff.

Large creamy offwhite head, retention is good, sticky, webby lacing is nice. Lightly hazy brown color. Nose is light roast and toast with a faint pineyness. Body is med/light, over carbonated, prickly co2 bites. Light roast and coffee flavors with bigger piney hop flavors unbalancing this one out. Dry, chocolatey finish. Meh. Bottle procured @statelineliquors.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small beigh head. Aroma is roasty and hoppy with rich coffee, chocolate and notes of nuttiness. Flavor is strong and rich with dark roasted coffee, roasted malts, light chocolate, nuts and a touch of caramel with a medium body and a bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. Black beer with a reddish tinge. The aroma is malty, and the flavour is malty and quite deeply bitter. Overall a nice deeply bitter and malty beer.

Bottle: This sweetheart has a delicious aroma of brown sugar & alcohol. A little hoppier than most browns which I think is nice. Very tasty. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for the hookup.

Pours a clear light brown, frothy head, Musky hop aroma, a bit fruity, and some grassy notes. The flavor is bitter and not like a coffee brown ale at all. I dont taste of smell coffee. Just musky bitter hops. Palate is a bit smooth and bitter. But not a coffee brown ale. Im confused.
