Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 9, 2008 A dark clear brown ale with a thin moka head. A nice chocolate and hops aroma, pinhey hops, melding nicely with fudge and vanilla. In mouth, a good chocolate malt, good herbal hops, sustained bitterness. Rich and smooth. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Dec 7, 2008 Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Damn fine brew. Wow. Brown pour with a nice beige head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, hops, malt and even some faint coffee. Flavor is creamy as hell, nuts, coffee candy, malt and great hop balance. Wow. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Dec 6, 2008 Bottle Pours out a nice brown topped with a cream off white head. Aroma of sweet roast and malts. Tast of light coffee and a little bite of bitterness at the end. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle: A deep chestnut brown pour with a large, creamy sandy head. Good lacing. Aroma is roasty and nutty. Tastes roasty with coffee notes and some bitters. Lingering bitters in the tail for sure. Thanks Buckeyeboy. BelgiskOlklub (397), Viby J, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Large creamy light brown lasting head with good lacing. Hazy brown body. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, citrus, lemon and brown sugar. Medium body oille texture amd a bitter finbish. It has a long lasting flavor, moderate sweet and moderate/heavy bitter. bradlyc77 (226), Sebastopol, California, USA Nov 20, 2008 nice brown color, very carbonated on the tongue. Seemed to be lacking in body/flavor, it’s probably just the other great beers we had at the Ratebeer election party. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Just about the best brown ale I’ve ever had. Robust as fuckin hell. Beautiful in every way. Lots of bittering hops that are overwhelming at first then mellow into something incredibly pleasing. Just great. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Nov 18, 2008 Bottle. Thin brownish head over a dark brown opaque body. Aroma is very hoppy; grapefruit and pine. Also dry roasted malts and and coffee-beans. Dry malts, bitter chocolate, espresso and a good amount of bittering hops in the flavor. Salty notes. Medium body. Roasty and bitter finish. A powerful Brown ale... smells like an IPA and taste like a Dry Stout.
