Jul 6, 2008 Nice dark brown color, medium brown head. Distinct coffee aroma. A little coffee, and alot of bitterness in the taste, not what I expected at all. a little smokey in the finish, nice beer, but not great.

Jul 4, 2008 Discount liquor, Milwaukee 10$ , Just a all around disappointment. Sure it has hops, so what. A lot of beers have hops beyond that its just a average micro brew brown beer. I will take a Rouge hazelnut brown any day over this one, and it is half the price for almost twice as much.

Jul 4, 2008 Dark amber color out of the bottle with a big, frothy head that left rings of lace on my glass. The nose is chalky with dusty chocolate and something that reminded me of dry dog food. The flavor has lots of roasted grain, chocolate and burnt toast. The finish shows the hops, with a long green finish that tends toward the grassy. Really nice brown ale.

Jul 4, 2008 Pours attractive deep brown with a full cream colored head. The nose is rich and full of malt and subtle pine, woodsy notes. The flavor is a bit grainy, earthy and malt astringent. Dry, gritty finish. Not their best stuff.

Jul 4, 2008 Bomber bottle at Spuyten Dyuvil.My first of hopefully many more Mikkellers. Don’t usually go for brown, but thought the name was cool. So I was very surprised by how hoppy the nose was for a brown beer. Oh yea, and it poured a rich deep brown. Also had coffee and chocolate, and some burnt notes. Nice smooth lightly carbonated mouthful. The hops interact well with the chocolate and coffee, and makes for an interesting and intense bitter finish. I really enjoyed this, even on a hot summer day

Jun 29, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a large head. The aroma has a nice nuttiness, a lot like hazelnuts along with some chocolate. The only problem comes in the flavor where the bitterness turns unpleasant compared to the malt profile in this one.

Jun 26, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of foamy long lasting brown colored finely sized bubbles that left behind a hazy brown colored typically carbonated body and a fair lacing. The aroma was of soft brown malt hop and caramel notes. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp from start to finish. The flavor was mildly vinous with brown malt and medium hop notes.
