| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Very nice dark brown yet see through pour, with a nice off white head with some nice lacing on my glass. Nice roasted malt aroms with a good dose of hops, and a touch of chocolate, and even some tobacco. Oh wow.....the flavour is incredible. Lots of hops, but the sweet malt, and chocolate stick around with some very nice coffee undertones. The typical brown ale caramel flavour is there, and it mingles with the chocolate, and the hops beautifully. I could drink this all day, this is an incredible beer! another triumph for Mikkeller! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Dark brown, almost black pour with a nice fluffy white head. Basically a hopped up brown ale. Lots of piny dry hops on the aroma. The typical malty nuttiness I expect from a brown is there but the hops dominate. The flavor is much more balanced. You get lots of chocolate and bitter roast, maybe a touch of molasses. The hops are there to balance the flavor, and linger on the aftertaste. Best brown I’ve ever had. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA
