Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

500mL bottle, no date. Clear ruby brown with one finger beige head, fair retention. Aroma is full of toasted grain and toasty hazelnuts--not sweet hazelnut extract like Rogue Hazelnut Brown--with some light vanilla and roasted grain in the background. Flavor has even more roast than the aroma had led on, with some added piney hops. The nuts and toasted grain is still there, but seems to take a bit of a backseat. Bone dry finish with some lingering bitterness peaking around a 3-4. Moderate carbonation that’s creamy and prickly with a light to medium body. This turned out to be pretty tasty, and a not so run-of-the-mill brown ale.

Bottle. Dark brown with ruby hints and a good sized mocha head. Aroma is rich and roasty, with great notes of coffee and chocolate, and a surprising hit of hops. Flavour follows the aroma, with some nice nuttiness coming through before the hops kick in. Seems to be bordering on being a porter, which is fine by me. Great stuff!

Bottle at Hamilton’s, thanks to Blair, shared with WeeHeavySD. Poured a dark brownish-red with a thick, foamy tan head. Hoppy aroma. Bitter hoppy and sweet malt taste. Lingering bitterness. Different and quite tasty.

Bottle, thanks mgumby. Plain brown color. Small tan head. Aroma of cola and hazel nuts. Extremely soft mouthfeel. Toasty, roasty, with bitter finish. Roasted nuts, toasted seed bread. Lingering hop finish. Wonderful take on the brown ale.

Bottle: Brown pour with an amber hue and a thick dense tan head. Fairly hoppy in the nose along with nutty caramel (but not sweet) Nice and inviting. Body is fluffy, but does have a sharp carbonation. Could use less carbonation. Pretty dry flavor. Dark nut hints, a bit ashy. There’s some American hop notes giving a very subtle fruity undertone. The finish is long and has lots of bitterness which is mildly ashy. A pretty solid Brown Ale.

Flaske. Superdejlig brown ale. Stor duft af humle, og en flot brun farve med dejlige indbydende bobler i skummet. Dejlig balanceret smag der gør den fantastisk drikbar.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, touch of red with a tan head. Aroma is a roasted chocolate, almost burnt quality to it. Flavor hits you with some hops and then again with the roasted malt. Finish is a bit more bitter than I expected, probably due to the burnt quality that was present througout.
