Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Solid brown in color with a thick white head. Aromas of piney hops, light caramel and chocolate with some spice toward the back end. The palate is medium-bodied and tart with the bitter hops dominating the malt. A good beer but not my favorite Mikkeller.

This is a bitter beer that makes a substandard brown. it does have a toasty feel and the hops are grass and pine. Its different but not bad

The aroma has toasted malt, coffee, plastic, and grass. The appearance is light brown with a head that is not even average. The flavor is bitter and not right for a brown ale. The palate is average. Overall I am not crazy about this at all.

Bottle pours a chill hazed chestnut brown body with an ample tan head that retains well and leaves generous lacing. Aroma begins nutty and chocolate but hops quickly take over with brash notes of pine and grapefruit rind. Creamy carbonation and some hop oiliness noted on the palate. Taste is very assertively hopped with bitter pine and citrus rind. Malts emerge more fully as it warms with a pleasant toastiness that highlights nutty, chocolate, and roasted coffee tones. Very well done. Certainly one of the hoppiest brown ales I’ve encountered.

Bottle. Chestnut brown color with a thin persistent khaki head. Aroma is a mix of earthy hops and nuttiness, plus an odd talcum-like note. There’s a slight astringency to the hops and a tannic note to the malts that combine to give a taste that is oddly bitter and pleasant. The finish, however, leaves the malts behind and all you have is this astringency, and at times it borders on being unpleasant. A confusing brew.

Bottle. Clear rust to brown color with a large head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, citrus hops and a hint of cocoa. Very dry, with some bittering hops at the finish.

bottle from Pizza Port. Red amber with a fizzy white head. Citrus and huge hoppy nose. Herbal tea like citrus earthy hops, bitter bite, and a robust coffee taste. Quite good.

Bottle @ Hamilton’s, Blair nicely gave this to me and Dalekliz. This is an interesting Brown. Pours Brownish with a super dark hue and a 1 finger tan head. Nose light and sweet and malty. Taste is sweet and malty and has a lot of burnt malt, almost too much, it isn’t drinkable because of it. Overall robust and decently nice.
