Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Thanks to akevitt for sharing. Bottle, pours a cloudy brown with thick, foamy, beige head. Aroma of malts, floral hops, and grapefruit. Medium bodied with flavors of green hops and burnt malts. Bitter hop and grapefruit aftertaste.

bottle from west lakeview..... pours a dark caramel brown with a thin off-white film of head at the top of the glass..... aromas of roasted caramel malt and light hops to supplement the malts..... flavors initially start off pretty bitter from the hops. the sweeter caramel malts peak through as it warms but the combination of the two seem a little off in my mind. mouthfeel was relatively nice and creamy. perhaps i wasn’t expecting so much bitterness which is what ultimately detracted from its enjoyability.l

Head is light beige, creamy, thick and leaves nice lacing. Beer is hazy deep yellowish reddish-brown. Some flowery hoppiness in armoa. Also roasted malts and chokolate. Flavors are roasted malts, chokolate, creamy coffee which emphasizes in the end. Nice bitter finish. Overall very balanced beer. Body is full and smooth, a bit sugary. A very enjoyable beer, one of the best!

Dark brown w/ lingering head. Aroma of coffee, tobacco, carob & caramel malts. Rich biting malt monster, sugarless chocolate, tobacco roughness, tongue burning bitterness...big hops, strong coffee beans. Not for the timid...it fits for the Tarantino Jackie Borwn image.

Bottle during Max’s 72 Hour Belgian Beer Fest. Brown bodied. Very malty and hoppy aroma with some caramel coming through in spots. Taste is hoppy and malty. More caramel, somewhat nutty (maybe chocolate covered peanuts?) and milky hazelnut coffee. Body is moderately carbonated and has a medium overall feel. This is completed with more nutty flavors, hops, chocolate, roasty malts and soft coffee. Nice brown!

Dark brown with a thick off white hide. Aroma was strong coffee, chocolate, hazelnut, and roast malts. Flavor kind of falls off a bit. The hops are pretty forward in this and just don’t blend very well. The coffee and chocolate that smelled great just taste off.

Bottle from SL, and wow was this sucker bitter! Pour was brown with an ok head and lacing. Aroma was strong piney type hops, strong roast, coffee. The flavor was strong coffee-choco with a level of roast that was astringently bitter, licorice, finishing with a mouthfull of hops bitterness. Sorry, not my cup of tea, over the top roasted bitterness, mouthfeel somewhat thin for as big as this thing looked and tasted.

Sweet! Opened the bottle to a funky nasty pungent vinous smell... poured and then settled my nose into the snifter to find a wonderful fresh hop aroma, followed by notes of coffee grounds, brown sugar and cinnamon/toffee apples. Great looking pour, deep ruby brown with a lovely creamy frothy grayish beige head. Leaves beautiful lacing on the glass. Sweet nutty fresh ground coffee flavors. Dry metallic tangy finish even with the lingering sweetness. Some citrus and a very present underlying hop bitterness. Watery, light but smooth carbonation, wish is had some more substance. This really would be sooo delectable if the body stood up to the delightful flavors. IPA like qualities emerge the more I drink: candy malt and fresh citrus hops. This beer has that quality that makes you feel warm and good inside... there should be a name for that.... *
